Convert an Orange Into a Candle with a Little Kitchen Oil

Power outages are never any fun, but they're even worse if you get hit with one when you don't have any candles around. Thankfully, Instructables user DualPhase shares a way to convert an orange into a candle in a pinch. Using an orange, grapefruit, or lemon, and any type of oil, you can hollow out the fruit and use the middle stem as a wick. After hollowing it out, all you need to do is fill the skin with vegetable or olive oil and you're all set. It's a handy trick that certainly beats out using your cell phone for light in a pinch. It probably smells a lot better too.

How to Make Cherry Blossom Lights

I love the way the cherry trees outside my building bloom cheerfully each Spring. I wanted to bring the beauty of those cherry blossoms indoors so I made some out of tissue paper and to make them even more special I added LEDs These pretty lights are inexpensive and easy to make. http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-Cherry-Blossom-Lights/
http://www.minieco.co.uk/valentines-day-pixely-popup-card/ By Kate on February 6, 2012 I ‘ve been scratching my head trying to come up with a card for my hubby {AKA the non-romantic type }. I finally decided to make this pixely popup heart card! They are really minimal (which I love) and take about 20 minutes to make (that includes the card, insert and envelope). You can even make some pixely confetti to put inside the card (if you are a big kid like me!).

after researching and finding out there were different kind of terrariums i could make i read about the sand terrariums. they look best with a cactus inside to create a sort of desert-y feel! i loved the look of it and made me think of making sand art as a little kid. i was inspired! i had SO much fun with this project. it’s super easy to do.. you just need some supplies that most likely aren’t laying around the house. i found everything i needed at michael’s (minus the plants!) i bought my adorable plants as redenta’s garden in lakewood. they’ve got a beautiful selection and the prices aren’t bad! they also had the most amazing terrarium cases. i can’t wait to make more!

Chocolate Chip Lava Cookies

http://www.kevinandamanda.com/recipes/dessert/chocolate-chip-lava-cookies.html I am so in love with these darn chocolate lava cookies! What is it about a warm, gooey chocolate chip cookie stuffed with decadent, rich, melted chocolate that makes it so irresistible?? Especially when topped with vanilla ice cream.
http://www.kingarthurflour.com/blog/2008/05/18/a-brownie-by-any-other-name/ Love brownies. Love their shiny, flaky top that shatters into micro-thin shards that shower onto your fingers as you eat. Love their dark, gooey center. Their “chocolate nirvana” flavor. Sometimes can’t deal with the bake, wait to cool, cutting into squares messiness and fuss of brownies.

A brownie by any other name…

Natural Pools or Natural Swimming Ponds (NSPs) Let nature clean the water... Chemical-free water garden and swimming pool. The plant portion, or regeneration zone, is separated from the swimming area by the wall seen a few inches below the water’s surface. www.naturalswimmingpools.com The pools have skimmers and pumps that circulate the water through the regeneration zone and back into the swimming area. http://inspirationgreen.com/natural-pools-swimming-ponds.html/

Day 39 – Repurposed Creamer Bottles

http://366daysofpinterest.com/2012/03/10/day-39-repurposed-creamer-bottles/ Yet again, I find myself asking, “Why didn’t I think of that?” Coffee creamer bottles make great storage containers. I usually pick up whatever creamer is on sale, so I had two different bottles to experiment with.

The Best New Way to Bring Your Lunch

http://www.thedailymuse.com/health/the-best-new-way-to-bring-your-lunch/ I’ll admit it—my workday lunches can get pretty boring. I always think I’m going to finally make use of all those delicious recipes I’ve been pinning away , but then nighttime rolls around and I’m too busy watching really important things like The Bachelorette and Vampire Diaries . And then morning comes, and I’m running around like a headless chicken and I’m lucky if I remember my keys and bus pass on the way out the door, let alone find time to throw a tasty lunch together. But with a teensy amount of planning, delicious lunches can be just a few easy steps away.

2-Minute Chocolate Chip Cookie For One

This is one of those ‘I-need-a-cookie-right-now-or-I-die’ recipes that can be prepared in almost no time. We all know that kind of situation, don’t we? I definitely do, I confess. And you know what? This impressive cookie not only takes less than 5 minutes to prepare, it tastes really delicious.

Honest To Nod

I've been having a love affair with bird motifs since many years now, so my heart skipped a beat when I saw a flock of birds' tattoo for the first time. I've been collecting them since then. I know bird tattoos are currently super trendy, but I love them anyway!

DIY Washi Tape Laptop Keyboard

Look whose little old MacBook got a facelift this weekend! I spotted this idea from minifanfan on Making It Lovely last week and just had to give it my own spin. I purchased my Japanese washi tape from Le Box Boutique on Etsy. There are hundreds of washi tape sellers but I chose Le Box because they allow you to purchase tape by the foot rather than having to purchase the entire roll. They were very easy to interact with and I would definitely recommend them if you’re looking to purchase washi tape! I chose these ten patterns but only ended up using eight of them on my keyboard.
