Zombie Fingers

All opinions are 100% mine. Mmmmmmm….Twinkies…. ***Insert Homer Simpson drooling noise here*** I don’t discriminate against snack cakes, but I think Hostess Cakes makes some of the best – the ubiquitous Twinkie, those famous swirly cupcakes, and, my personal favorite, the Ho Ho. It’s easy to throw a Twinkie into your kid’s lunchbox or indulge in a Ho Ho after dinner, but you can also incorporate them into your Halloween festivities! You can find tons of ideas on decorating snack cakes from bloggers like Confessions of a Cookbook Queen or Hungry Happenings, but I wanted to create something myself to share.

These may be a bit tamer than my usual fare, but I think they’re a perfect blend of cute and gross and easy enough to make with family! Twinkies (duh!) Start by chilling the Twinkies in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes; this will help with the coating process. Tagged as: zombie. Halloween Pumpkin Cake {Surprise Inside Cake. Creepy Halloween Sweets - Cake Ball Brains Oozing Cherry Blood. There are only 9 days until my party and I have 80-100 guests coming. Can you hear my pulse racing? I have absolutely no time to ramble on today, so we're just going right to the recipe for cake ball brains. I'm serving these at my party along with lots of other zombie themed sweets.

Cake Ball Brains with Oozing Cherry Blood (makes 28-36*) Ingredients: 1 baked chocolate cake 1/4 - 1/2 cup vanilla frosting 30-38 ounces melted white confectionery coating/candy melts** black candy coloring (if you want your brains to be grey) cherry jelly, jam, preserves, or dessert sauce (3/4 teaspoon per brain) red food coloring (if you want to intensify the color or the cherry sauce) *UPDATE: I made these and used about one once of candy melts per brains and about 2 tablespoons of the cake ball mixture, but I just had some friends over helping me get brains done for our party and after making 20 brains, had used all the white candy melts but had cake left over.

Special Supplies Needed: Instructions: Game of Thrones Cake Pops. Since I didn’t read any of the Game of Thrones books before watching the show, everything was a surprise to me. But, the biggest surprise came during the ninth episode of the first season, “Baelor.” Everything was building towards a most dreadful ending and I kept thinking, “No, they won’t do it. They won’t kill Ned Stark. No way.” And then, this happened: Holy crap. Image from EW.com After an immediate reaction of shock, sadness, and a little disgust (which I imagine was the point), I thought…it kind of looks like a cake pop.

And so, my Ned Stark cake pops were born. Ned Stark Cake Pops Cake ball recipe from Bakerella Ingredients: Red velvet cake from a mix, cooled completely 16 ounces cream cheese frosting. Swirly Halloween Cookies. Halloween Trick-or-Treat Bag Sugar Cookies. Trick or treat cookie friends!
