After last year’s failed attempt at making a store-bought Grass Head grow some hair, this summer we made our own.
The results were great. Only the sprouting took some time – maybe because it was so sad and rainy outside. Here are several different ideas for the container where you could plant the grass seeds. It could be a problem to find those seeds, though. Sunglasses from empty toilet paper rolls. Are you ready for the summer?
Be a sunglasses designer Have a look at this easy way to make your own sunglasses. They become very beautiful if you apply glittering stickers and colour them with felt-tip pens. Abstract coloring pages are not only suitable for children, but are a great way of expressing creativity and artistic skills for adults as well.
These coloring pages feature elaborate patterns and pictures with fun psychedelic designs and intricate details. The abstract patterns and shapes inspire creativity in adults while letting children indulge their power of imagination to fill the pages with colors. Abstract coloring pages are very challenging due to the absence of recognizable scenes and objects featured in other types of coloring sheets. But this characteristic makes them more fun as well, allowing one to experiment with vibrant new color combinations. There are no set rules regarding the shades to be used for filling the pages, so one can use whatever shades they want to and create unique patterns. Abstract coloring pages come in a wide range of varieties with Mandala coloring pages being one of the most popular ones. Glue Yarn Ball Tutorial. If you're new here, you may want to join us on Facebook or Google +.
Thanks for visiting! I decided to quickly take advantage of the remaining days of holiday to make some Paper Mache Piggy Banks with the kids! They have recently really gotten into their ceramic piggy banks (don’t ask) and are forever playing with them. I thought a paper mache version maybe safer and less likely to break. With paper mache I have two “main tips”: give yourself PLENTY of time. Secondly: do not rush the drying process – I have seen a number of paper mache failures in the past shared by my readers – where the balloon inside contracts before the mache is fully dry and your perfect sphere, suddenly is all crumpled. If you can spare two pillowcases, here is a tutorial for a free reusable shopping bag: One pillowcase will form the outside, and the other will be the lining. Lay both pillowcases flat and cut out the pattern below. Measurements below are for a fairly small bag- feel free to add as much length as your pillowcases allow, or adapt the pattern once you've made your first tester bag. You will have two outside pieces (blue) and two lining pieces (taupe).
If you want a pocket, sew one to the good side of a lining piece now. Lay one outer (blue) piece on top of one lining (taupe) with right sides together. Turn right side out and topstitch the same place - up one side of the curve and down the other. With right sides together, lay the front piece over the back piece. Here's how to square the corners of the bag: from the inside, take the bottom corner of bag and pinch sideways. Confused? And this is a square corner from the outside. Poule. Oiseaux manique. In gift wrap emergencies when you've got the present but need some wrapping, here's an idea for turning a magazine page into a bow.
There may be better ways to stick this thing together, but I used what I had on hand: staples and adhesive glue dots. Double stick tape or brads should work, too. A designer that has her stuff on Etsy, Allison Patrick of the 3R’s Blog (Reduce, Reuse, Redecorate – 30 projects in 30 weeks) has created some pretty cool pendant shades that are pretty representative of the beautiful shape of the artichoke. But – the shade is made of recycled pages from books and magazines!
Allison’s lamps are very cool, they remind me of the decoupage projects my mom would do with us as a kid. Just recently she got featured on Fab.com, and that has pushed her work sky high! Allison’s got a pretty awesome story with her luminaire design business (which is called Zipper 8 Design, by the way) – she graduated with her Masters, and like many people, she found herself with lots of time and no job. Allison's stuff on Etsy Allison, JimOnLight.com thinks your works are awesome. Flowers. Welcome to flower week – five days of simple and delightful flower projects.
