Personality Indicators and Emergency Permit Teachers' Willingness to Embrace Technology. As a result of innovative technologies designed to enhance learning, today's teachers must learn to incorporate the newer technologies into instructional strategies. The present study examined the impact of certain personality types and secondary education teachers' inclination to use technology. A sample of 200 Emergency Permit teachers were surveyed using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and a questionnaire designed to determine willingness to use technology. A one-way ANOVA test was applied to group means. Findings indicate that intuitive/thinking types of personalities were more likely to use technology in teaching while the sensory/feeling types were the least likely. Rapid technological transformations highlight the importance of a technology-based and integrated learning environment for students (Reed & Sautter, 1987; Crow & Buckley, 1988; Riley, 1993).

However, in a recent study conducted by the U. S. Methodology. Article - Intuitive Thinking by Dale Power. Why Night Owls Are More Intelligent than Morning Larks. Some people are night owls, and others are morning larks. What makes the difference may be their levels of general intelligence . Virtually all species in nature , from single-cell organisms to mammals, including humans, exhibit a daily cycle of activity called circadian rhythm . The circadian rhythm in mammals is regulated by two clusters of nerve cells called the suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) in the anterior hypothalamus. Geneticists have by now identified a set of genes that regulate the SCN and thus the circadian rhythm among mammals. However, humans, unlike other mammalian species, have the unique ability, consciously and cognitively, to override their internal biological clock and its rhythmic outputs.

In other words, at least for humans, circadian rhythm is not a matter of genetics. Within broad genetic constraints, humans can choose what time to go to bed and get up. An analysis of a large representative sample of young Americans confirms this prediction. Analytical/Intuitive Thinking: PART IV, Patience. If you haven't taken the analytical versus intuitive thinking mode Cognitive Reflection Test (CRT), you should do so at the PART I posting before continuing here. Consider these two questions: Which of these payoffs would you pick? Receive $3,400 this quarter or $3,800 next quarter? You order a book from Amazon.com that will arrive in five days. How much would you be willing to pay to receive the book tomorrow? In this posting, we explore the relationship between analytical and intuitive thinking mode and financial patience.

Note that the return from $3,400 to $3,800 is 11.8% in only three months! Notice that the analytical planners overwhelmingly selected the patient option ($3,800). How much would you pay to get the book tomorrow? Whether considering payments over time or paying for speedy delivery of a book, intuitive thinkers have less patience than analytical thinkers. Is it better to be patient or impatient from an investment perspective? Arctic Refuge: Wildlife and Wild Landscapes.

The Rules of Attraction in the Game of Love. To figure out how we pick mates, scientists have measured every shape and angle of the human face, studied the symmetry of dancers, crafted formulas from the measurements of Playboy models, and had both men and women rank attractiveness based on smelling armpit sweat. After all this and more, the rules of attraction for the human species are still not clearly understood. How it all factors into true love is even more mysterious.

But a short list of scientific rules for the game of love is emerging. Some are as clearly defined as the prominent, feminine eyes of a supermodel or the desirable hips of a well-built man. Other rules work at the subconscious level, motivating us to action for evolutionary reasons that are tucked inside clouds of infatuation. In the end, lasting love depends at least as much on behavior as biology.

Symmetry equals sex Starting at conception, the human body develops by neatly splitting cells. Those hips Body shape is of course important, too. Face it Sniff this.
