On Monday, May 9, 2011, I brought my little dog to Heaven’s Pets Cremation and Bereavement Center, located within the Metairie Cemetery. I was astonished to find that the kind grief counselor was a woman who had visited the Sacred Shrine of Jon Bon Jovi and had actually met Lupe. The staff were kinder than I could have imagined. The images in the video – the ones of her little paw prints, nose prints, and of the urn – were lovingly prepared by Heaven’s Pets.

Many friends offered to go with me on Tuesday when it was time to pick up her ashes, but after reading the entries on this blog and watching the Filmed While Driving videos, I thought it was only fitting that I take one last road trip with her.
