History[edit] 2001–2003: Origins and formation[edit] Drummer Ronnie Vannucci, Jr. and bass player Mark Stoermer were members of other bands when they met Keuning and Flowers, both were eventually persuaded to join the Killers and by November 2002, the band's current line up was complete.
The four of them would get together in Vannucci's garage to work on song ideas. They would also sneak into the band room at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (where Vannucci was studying Classical percussion) at night to practice.
