FlashcardDb is one of the growing number of online flashcard review sites that allow you to review online and share flashcards with others. The site offers full data portability and support for both a static time-to-forget “Leitner” form of interval study as well as an interval study approach similar to that provided by Supermemo, Anki , and Mnemosyne . The developer posts some interesting comments on interval study (spaced repetition) on the site blog and also has a twitter feed one can follow .

Recently, I watched my son demonstrate a Prezi he created in collaboration with classmates on the topic of Greece for a college course on international studies. In his presentation, the Greek flag became the Parthenon, then took the viewer on a tour of the politics, legal system, agriculture, financial system, and culture of Greece.Prezi, a new way of thinking about presentations

Moving Toward Web 2.0 in K-12 Education | Britannica Blog
The title of this post is a watered-down version of my typical opening line on this topic, both because of the importance of allowing for true dialog on this topic (which can sometimes be lost in the strident opining that blogging seems to engender), and because of the difficulty of quantifying educational success when talking about the particular outcomes that I hope to show are largely inherent in and facilitated by the use of Web 2.0. Normally I would say, “Web 2.0 is the future of education,” and while I harbor a hope that will be true, I think it might be more accurate to say that “Web 2.0 will be a significant part of the future of learning,” and that in the best case scenario it will become an important part of our formal educational institutions.
