Week 7 of #PLENK2010 has been focused on PLE/Ns tools with the adjective "new" used three times in the questions to we students to answer. While tool talk can be interesting, I am more taken with the need for us to understand what a PLE truly encompasses because I see so much of what is in the PLE simply unchartered, save for a passing remark in Wilson's "Patterns of personal learning environments" where he says; "Connect the metadata and sensors of the object to the network; allow the object to describe itself." In my September post, "Focusing a PLE/PLN with a Personal Intuitive Map" , I began to feel my way into the space of describing the totality of the personal learning environment, inspired to a great extent by my ongoing study of neuroeconomics . In this post, I have now attempted to classify and identify both the common human elements and the unique individual elements that form my PLE. In the above, Top type = Me, the living human, and Superclass = intuition.
By M. Gardner Food Freedom Canada’s National Farmers Union wants the Canada-EU trade deal scrapped. US farmers face the same assault by agribusiness and the biotech industry under S 510. Epoch Times noted: “Under provisions in CETA [Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement], using saved seed could result in a farmer’s land, equipment, and crops being seized for alleged infringement of intellectual property rights attached to plant varieties owned by corporations such as Monsanto, Dow, Syngenta, and Bayer.
Love what Jenny said here , the needs of learners come first. Once there was an interesting motto: Customers are always right – they are the kings and queens, without them, the business won’t survive . Sounds true.
Christopher Manion LRC Blog October 26, 2010 It is so bizarre that you won’t believe it, but the tactics of the TSA agents who terrorize Americans traveling by air are virtually synonymous with the deliberately inhuman and debasing standard operating procedure of CIA and MI5 interrogators of terrorist suspects in war zones. “The British military has been training interrogators in techniques that include threats, sensory deprivation and enforced nakedness in an apparent breach of the Geneva conventions, the Guardian has discovered. Training materials drawn up secretly in recent years tell interrogators they should aim to provoke humiliation, insecurity, disorientation, exhaustion, anxiety and fear in the prisoners they are questioning, and suggest ways in which this can be achieved.”
