Get flash to fully experience Pearltrees
In February 2011, Mark Boogaers started the Kuala Lumpur Hiking and Trail Running Meetup Group with the purpose of finding like minded individuals who enjoy going out for the purpose of getting/staying fit and enjoying nature. This group was not so much about the activity being a social gathering, but about getting some serious exercise on a regular basis. Although the initial plan was to organise interesting hikes in hilly terrain that will take up to a full day within two hours drive from the centre of Kuala Lumpur, our hikers are now expanding their views. New hiking venues, in other states and even other countries, are now presented and explored. I still respect and endorse Mark's concept that this Meetup group is a forum for hikers by hikers. Anyone who likes to organise a hike is welcome to do so.
Why is losing weight so tough ? Unsightly flab. Battered self-esteem. Clothes that just don’t fit anymore. Fighting the battle of the bulge is no walk in the park, and it’s a problem that haunts many of us throughout our lives. So how do we deal with it?
One of my resolutions is “Remember how little most things matter in the long run.” Also, I’m trying to be less defensive when I make mistakes. I hate to be wrong, I hate to screw up, I hate to forget to do something – and it really bothers me when I do. I want to bore everyone with my endless explanations, justifications, and excuses. This came up last night. At the Second-Grade Parent Social at the Big Girl’s school, a friend asked me if the Big Girl’s birthday party was going to be a surprise.
For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared.
