What is Skillset Approval and Accreditation?

Accreditation by other organisations. As well as providing its own accreditation to courses, Creative Skillset recognises five other accrediting bodies: The Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC)JAMES (Joint Audio Media Education Services)The National Council for Drama Training (NCDT)The Periodicals Training Council (PTC)The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Each one shares the main objective of creating standards of excellence in professional training across all skill areas and creative media sectors.

Each promotes a model of best practice mutually agreed between industry and education and training providers. A healthy relationship and continuous liaison between these accreditation bodies ensure a full coverage of all sectors within the Creative Media Industries. Accredited courses bear the Creative Skillset Tick, a quality mark for the industry, an indication of quality assurance of the very best in training and education. The aim of the accreditation scheme is to facilitate strong links between higher education institutions, the animation industry and Creative Skillset to ensure that: the courses remain relevant to the needs of the industry;the students develop the skills and knowledge the industry requires;and employers can rely on graduates of accredited courses to perform at the standard they expect.
