What was FIVEAWESOMEGIRLS? I guess we could try to explain it to you by saying if you mixed Brotherhood 2.0 with the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, and threw in a little Harry Potter and good genes, then you'd have the Five Awesome Girls. Basically, there were five of us, and five days in a week i(f you don't count Saturday and Sunday), which we didn't, because we're inherently lazy. So we live all over the US and most of us met each other online and/or through Harry Potter-related events, and we each made one video a week for all of 2008 in an attempt to get to know each other better and hopefully exercise our hilariousity. Nowadays we've gotten way past the get-ta-know-ya phase, and we're just a group of really close friends making really awesome videos. Subscribe and join in on the fun-- we're not currently using the channel but who knows what the future could bring.
Much ado has been made in recent years over the quickly rising cost of healthcare in the United States. But the cost of college tuition and fees has skyrocketed at nearly twice that rate. Going to college today will cost a student 559% more than it did in 1985, on average. In an exciting talk given at TEDGlobal 2012 , Stanford professor Daphne Koller explains why she was inspired — alongside fellow professor Andrew Ng — to create Coursera , which brings great classes from top universities online for free. Coursera classes have specific start dates, require students to take quizzes and turn in assignments, as well as allowing professors to customize their course into online chunks rather than simply recording their lectures.
