Best of Rhizome 2012 - Nightly. The Wub Machine - Nightly. 10 Best and Most Memorable Projects of 2012 - Nightly. It’s that time of the year when we slowly begin wrapping up the 2012. Before we say goodbye, take a short but well deserved break, lets take a quick moment to look back at some of the best and most memorable projects of 2012. Like last year, there is no mechanism in deciding these and neither-nor all projects here are spectacular and magnificent but instead they may offer a brief view into what lies ahead. Without further ado… 10. Hydro-Fold by Christophe Guberan Created by Christophe Guberan (ECAL), this inkjet printer prints patterns that contort pieces of paper into specific 3D forms.

Christophe modified a printer to use a mixture of water and ink in the cartridge which causes the paper to fold along wet lines and humid areas forming very interesting geometries. 9. The Product was commissioned by Volkswagen to develop a set of visuals for an interactive musical performance for the premiere of the New Beetle at the 2011 IAA motor show. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. The Infinite Jukebox « Music Machinery - Nightly. Another Music Hack Day weekend … this time in Boston hosted at MIT. It was a pretty awesome event. The space at MIT was perfect for hacking, with the best network connectivity I’ve ever seen at a hacking event. For my weekend hack, I took the idea from my Iceland hack (Infinite Gangnam Style), and made it work with any song. The result is The Infinite Jukebox.

With The Infinite Jukebox, you can create a never-ending and ever changing version of any song. The app works by sending your uploaded track over to The Echo Nest, where it is decomposed into individual beats. Each beat is then analyzed and matched to other similar sounding beats in the song. To accompany the playback, I created a chord diagram that shows the beats of the song along the circumference of the circle along with with chords representing the possible paths from each beat to it’s similar neighbors. I did have to adapt the Infinite Gangnam Style algorithm for the Infinite Jukebox. Like this: Like Loading... Quibe – One Line Drawings - Nightly. To: The Whitney People From: Monument Consultancy, LLC April 31, 2010 First things first, so let’s get right down to it. The flowers at the Metropolitan, so festive and appealing, are placed in gigantic vases near the grand staircase at the entrance. Why? To garner the most attention from the most people. If the Whitney Biennial is to include at least one automobile per exhibition, why not put those cars right by the elevator? BANG ! Who cares about flowers when you’re standing in front of a big, beautiful American machine?

The term “contemporary art ” implies that art should be contemporary. Living Architecture - Nightly. The Dune House is available Easter 21-25 April (book here). Dates for January-April 2015 are available to book. The release of the next round of dates will be announced via our newsletter, please sign up. The Dune House lies just to the south of the picturesque village of Thorpeness in Suffolk, on an idyllic spot on the very edge of the sea, nestled among rolling dunes. You can walk out from the living room directly onto the beach and enjoy extraordinary panoramic views over the sea from the terraces, bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper floor. Living Architecture invited one of Norway’s most renowned practices, Jarmund/Vigsnæs Architects, to create a house for us on this archetypally English seaside site.

JVA, as they are known, made their name building a series of accomplished houses in Oslo and its outskirts and intimately understood the need to balance the advantages of modernity with the traditional virtues of warmth and comfort. The Dune House sleeps 9 people. Durchsehen Exp. 01 (augmented perspective) | Daniel Franke - Nightly. D-2010. Concrete cube, PC, 2 projectors, webcam, servo motors, microcontrollers, C++ applications, tripods. 4 x 4 x 2 m. Collaboration with Markus Kison A camera fixed on the concrete cube sculpture recognizes the presence of human faces within its scope. With a randomized choice it will focus on one of the bystanders and adjust its movement to his; tracking the eye movements of the viewer, a software computes the corresponding angle of view projecting onto the cube the very section of the space the sculpture is blocking from the viewers eye; thus making the cube appear transparent. The video sculpture „Durchsehen, Exp. 01 (augmented perspective)“ overwrites the common notion of perspective and plays with the significance of perspective in an art historical perspective; the work of art evades the gaze of the viewer or rather: the two are equated.

German Version. Graffiti | CreativeApplications.Net - Nightly. The Venus Project - Nightly. The Power Principle | Watch Free Documentary Online - Nightly. A gripping, deeply informative account of the plunder, hypocrisy, and mass violence of plutocracy and empire; insightful, historically grounded and highly relevant to the events of today. This documentary is about the foreign policy of the United States. It demonstrates the importance of the political economy, the Mafia principle, propaganda, ideology, violence and force. It documents and explains how the policy is based on the interest of major corporations and a tiny elite to increase profits and the United States governments own interests in maintaining and expanding it's imperialistic influence. Inside the United States this has been made possible with a propaganda of fear for the horrible enemies like the Soviet Union, Communists and so on and a love for "free markets", "democracy", "freedom" and so on.

Externally (and increasingly internally) this has caused massive poverty and suffering, genocide, war, coups, crushed unions and popular movements and environmental destruction. Machine project - Nightly.
