Internet Book of Shadows Index

This is a collection of posts to bulletin boards from the late eighties to the mid nineties, essentially predating the modern Internet. According to a recent communication, the original editor of this archive was Durwydd mac Tara at PODS net. We acknowledge Durwydd's hard work to preserve this archive. For ease of access, we have converted this archive to HTML using a C program. There are a number of technical difficulties with this collection including runtogetherwords in many places, problems with the table of contents and huge inconsistencies in pagination; due to the volume of this material we have left these intact for now. We have taken the liberty of removing about twenty-five articles which were too far 'off topic', posted elsewhere at this site, or had serious copyright issues. Wicca. Wicca is a Neopagan religion that can be found in many English-speaking countries.

Wicca

Originally founded by the British civil servant Gerald Gardner, probably in the 1940s, although it was first openly revealed in 1954. Since its founding, various related Wiccan traditions have evolved, the original being Gardnerian Wicca, which is the name of the tradition that follows the specific beliefs and practices established by Gerald Gardner repeatedly in his published work of 1954. The spelling "Wicca" is now used almost exclusively, (Seax-Wica being the only major use of the four-letter spelling). In Old English, wicca meant necromancer or male witch. Some contend that the term wicca is related to Old English witan, meaning wise man or counselor, but this is widely rejected by language scholars as false etymology. Wicca refers to the religion. Origins The history of Wicca is a much debated topic. Gardner probably had access to few, if any, traditional Pagan rites.

But if you don't take them seriously, they won't work. The energy behind a spell is your own focused will, and longer spells do make it easier to stay focused. An easy magic spell just means you have to concentrate more to give it the power it needs. And aside from just your personal energy, each ingredient in a spell also adds more power to it. Free Wicca Spells. Free Wicca spells aren't really all that different from basic witchcraft spells.

Free Wicca Spells

The term "Wiccan" refers to a specific religion that has its roots in ancient pre-Christian Paganism, and the practice of witchcraft is part of that religion. But both Wiccans and non-Wiccans can cast spells and practice witchcraft, so there really isn't any need to look for "free Wicca spells" since any witchcraft spell will be the same thing. So now that you've found some spells, what exactly are you after? Do you need some Wiccan love spells? They are certainly the most popular, but by no means the only kinds of free Wiccan spells available to you. As I mentioned above, there isn't much need to distinguish between witchcraft or Wiccan spells since they are the same thing.

How to Make a Book of Shadows (BOS) By Patti Wigington The Book of Shadows (BOS) is used to store information you'll need in your magical tradition, whatever it may be.

How to Make a Book of Shadows (BOS)

Many Pagans and Wiccans feel a BOS should be handwritten, but some use a computer to store information as well. Bear in mind that a BOS is considered a sacred tool, which means it is an item of power that should be consecrated with all of your other magical tools. In many traditions, it is believed you should copy spells and rituals into your BOS by hand – this will not only transfer energy to the writer, but it also helps you to memorize the contents. Make sure you write legibly enough that you’ll be able to read your notes during a ritual! To make your Book of Shadows, begin with a blank notebook.

Many witches simply write, “The Book of Shadows of [your name]” on the front page. What format should you use? Internet Book of Shadows Index. This is a large (+9Mb) collection of articles related to Neo-Paganism which can be found archived at a number of FTP sites (for instance, here).
