Nokia E7 phone finally hitting stores this week | Wireless. The smartphone that Nokia has been touting as its new "flagship" business model will finally reach consumers this week. Following its unveiling last September and a long delay coming to market, the E7 will have a small, initial launch in the next few days, with a broader launch to follow soon, Nokia announced today. Nokia's announcement was mum on a number of launch details.
However, a Nokia representative told CNET that the E7 will be released first in Finland, the company's home turf. She could not provide names of any other countries, just saying that broader availability is expected by month's end. The E7 costs 495 euros ($674). Initally scheduled to debut in December, Nokia told CNET at the time that the company decided to delay launch "to ensure the best possible user experience on the Nokia E7. " Although still the world's leading mobile phone maker, Nokia has watched its dominance slowly slip over the past couple of years. Nokia's conundrum: How much pain ahead for an OS switch? Researchers at UCLA have published an article titled “Implementation of an iPhone for characterizing Parkinson’s disease tremor through a wireless accelerometer application” in “Conference Proceedings: Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society”.
The researchers used an iPhone 3G and a customized application to display how the characteristic Parkinson’s tremor can be diagnosed remotely using the accelerometer of the iPhone. They showed how an app could collect data from an iPhone’s accelerometer, which could then be sent via e-mail to a remote location for interpretation of a particular tremor — a proof of concept for telemedicine, one of the reasons the study was conducted. Parkinson’s has four key characteristics: A distinct 4 to 6 Hz tremor at rest, cogwheel rigidity or increased tone, hypokinesia, and abnormal gait or posture. Current TV. Current TV was an American television channel from August 1, 2005 to August 20, 2013. Al Gore, Joel Hyatt, and Ronald Burkle each held a sizable stake in Current, and Comcast and DirecTV each held a smaller stake.[1] The channel started out as a user-generated content channel with content made by viewers in 15 minute blocks. The channel later switched formats to become an independent news network aimed at progressive politics.
