It was allocated for burial purposes in the early 20th century. It is within Springvale Botanical Cemetery dedicated to the needs of Municipalities of South of Yarra.
Standing beyond the crematorium is the War Cemetery, which covers approximately two acres of land. It is 15 miles from Melbourne by road as it lies on the Princes Highway.
