Conflicted Response I read this book because I sincerely believe that I was the sole gay teenager in the country who hadn't read it yet.

So, even though I hate with a passion the glossy-covered forgettable wad that is mass-printed teen-targeted pulp fiction, I relented and bought it. I have never read a book like this before! Evolution, Me, and Other Freaks of Nature is a brilliant piece of literature about religion and science, finding your place in the world and young love. Mena Reece has done something so unspeakable it got her kicked out of her church. No she is left to deal with the kids from her youth group picking her out to torture. How ironic, right? The kids from Mena's former church refuse to listen to Ms. As this is happening Casey and Mena are also working on their science project behind the backs of Mena's parents because she isn't supposed to over at a boys house.

I wish there had been such a book when I was growing up. Kissing Kate. Best Book I've Read So Far Kissing Kate is, hands down, the best book I have read in a very long time, if not forever. I read it in two days and loved every second of it. Her sister reminds me so much of my sister. This book is sensitive, funny, touching, and so realistic. The Difference Between You and Me. I wanted to like this more I'm torn about this book. There were certain sections I thought were perfectly done whereas others I found dull. The story is told primarily from the point of view of Jesse, an out and proud, opinionated teenage girl who spends her time creating manifestos for kids on the outskirts. Interspersed throughout are chapters from the point of view of Emily, the pretty, popular, student council vice president whom Jesse spends Tuesday afternoons secretly making out with.
