A New Day in 5th Grade. In my stumbling around looking for blogs I came across an inspiring collaborative tool called The 30 Goals Challenge for Educators.

You simply cannot leave work at work because there is always marking to be done, evaluations to be completed and lessons to be planned. There is also always the thinking: How can I create better lessons? Define your moment: 30 Goals Challenge- Goal 1. This morning I came across the 30 goal challenge for educators.

I immediately was interested in this idea. I searched for my information and read about all of the transformation this had prompted in teachers. It helped them to develop more as teachers and regain passion in their work. Goal 1:Define your moment – #30GoalsEdu « English - Batteries not included... I think I came across the 30 Goals Challenge at a very appropriate time for me and I’m really excited to have become part of it.

This past year has been quite difficult (have a read at my recent post here) and I’ve been looking for ways to re-inspire myself, so the #30GoalsEdu is a real blessing! A big thank you to Shelly and the amazing community of teachers for sharing their ideas. So, defining my moment… Reflection is one of the keys to the future, going back a bit to see what worked and what didn’t. I spent a lot of time reflecting, sometimes by myself, sometimes with others (to whom I am eternally grateful for their insightful observations and putting up with me!) This is my moment to move forward. Pack my bags with all my rights and wrongs and head towards a bright, new future, one full of inspiration.Taking baby steps at the moment, but this journey has begun: Step 1I closed the door to negative people. Step 2I continued learning. Step 3I rejoined the world of social media. 30 Goals Challenge: Goal 1 #30GoalsEdu. I've been reading other people's blogs about this 30 Goals challenge for months, and I wanted to take part, but never got down on it....

Until now! I think that Shelly's idea is a wonderful one and it gives reasons to some people (like me) to go on! I just wanted to add that it is much easier to have a subject to write that keep on searching for ideas all the time (which is very creative but sometimes you get "blocked") ROSE BARD – Teaching Journal. “Every moment is the paradox of now or never.” ~ Simon Van Booy.

Terrell has launched the 4th cycle and year of The 30 Goals Challenge for Educators. This year’s theme is, “This is MY Moment.”Goal Nº 1: Define your momentAfter I read Josette LeBlanc 's post about Connections and Influences in iTDi Blog I was very moved by of Josette's reflections on the power of gratitude. And I moved quickly to take action, getting a gratitude buddy did not seem something easy, but I managed to look for help and met my gratitude buddy quite soon. His name is Tom, though he is not an educator but an engineer by profession and a long distance runner by choice, he accepted my proposal and started a wonderful journey towards sharing the good things our lives provide.

We express gratitude on regular basis and I am happy to discover more and more reasons to be grateful. We also share what we learn about leading a positive attitude in life. This Is My Moment / 30 goals diary 2013. These are my favourite lines about MOMENTS by Willam Blake: To see a world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour.

This Is My Moment / 30 goals diary 2013

I’m excited to be taking part in Shelly Terrell’s 30 day goals diary project for 2013. This is an amazing global initiative where many teachers work together to encourage each other to reach their goals. Today, my first task is to DEFINE MY MOMENT and reflect upon what’s going well and what I still hope to achieve this year. 2013 has been a great year for me so far. Here are some highlights: 1) I presented at The Virtual Round Table Conference on the subject of technology and Creativity. 2) I presented at the Language Learning Today Conference on the subject of my Brain-Friendly English Online philosophy of education. 3) I presented at Teacher Appreciation week WizIQ on the subject of empathy in education. 4) I presented at the CO13 conference in WizIQ on the subject of promoting courses online. The Hardest Days. It happened It was our last “real” class of the year and one of my students approached me with tears in her eyes – “Mr.

Storm, I’m really going to miss you- tomorrow is going to stink.” That evening I went home and drew one of her favorite cartoon characters and added a quote to it: The next morning I handed my student this picture and could tell it was what she needed to get through the day. There were a lot of tears, but mixed with those tears were big smiles. It’s moments like this that make me realize why I teach. Goal 1: Define Your Moment #30goalsedu. Rose Bard, one of my inspiring teachers who’s added me a a member of this group. She’s very dedicated teacher and great teacher who has a big effort to always learn new things.
