This is my little Lily bug. I have to admit I never thought I’d be one of those moms who dress their daughter in froufrou wear. It all started with making a fabric flower. And now I can’t help myself… one flower after another. I dare you to make only one. Let’s get started. Cut a 2” diameter circle from the stiff felt. Cut 6 pieces of lace 2 inches long.
Cut 4 pieces of ribbon 8 inches long. Center and hot glue one folded ribbon on the top side of the stiff felt circle. Cut 8 circles from floral fabric ranging from one inch to two inches in diameter. The real deal: It cost me about $2 in materials to make this. Head on over to this headband tutorial to complete the look. My husband came home one day with a headband he had found in a parking lot (I know...sooo sanitary) and said "I bet you could make one of these" so I did...because I'm all for stealing awesome ideas. Difficulty: Medium Time: 30 minutes Cost: Under $10 Fun-ness: Why would I do a boring project? Materials: Yarn (100% cotton for a crisp look, acrylic for a softer look) Size H or J hook Ribbon (approximately 1/2 inch wide) Hot Glue Gun Directions Step 1: Creating the Chains And that's it! So wear your headband with pride! Love the headband, but don't want to make it yourself? Simple Bow Tie Top. I'm so happy about how this turned out. This is one of those projects that's been on my to do list forever and now that I finally got it done, I wish I had done it a long time ago.
This is such a simple project. One of the easiest I've ever made. Don't have much sewing experience? Give this a go, I promise it's a piece of cake and any mistakes made are hardly noticeable because of the gather. You can make this project even easier by purchasing ribbon rather than sewing your own sash. Materials: 5/6 + yard knit & 1/3 yard silk, cotton, etc. My knit is 60" wide and my dusty pink silk (faux) is 45" wide. Your fabric doesn't have to be exactly as wide as mine, just keep in mind that if you buy a fabric that is less wide you may need to purchase more to compensate.
Cut two large squares to the dimensions of 30" x 30" If you bought 5/6 yd of 60" fabric all you have to do is cut along the fold line. **Edit- 30" length gives you a long top. Make a casing at the top of each square. Pin along sides. Stay-at-home artist: butterfly wall hanging tutorial... I'm so excited to share my Butterfly Wall Hanging today! I created this project as part of "All About Easter"...so welcome to all of you who popped over from Kiki Creates! It’s a paint chip craft taken to a different level. There are some really awesome paint chip projects out there, but I was determined to come up with something a little different. That’s when crackle medium entered the picture and this paint chip clock was born! UPDATE: This paint chip clock is available in my Etsy shop. I’ve had this rooster clock for quite a few years.
If you want to make one of these or something similar, you will need: an old clock paint chipssand paper crackle medium Vintage white acrylic paint paintbrushes Mod Podge antiquing gel scrapbook paper So I pulled out the clock, removed the mechanism and sanded down the face. I laid out the paint chips across the front of the clock to make sure I had enough and that there would be enough to cover. I really wanted to do something different. When the crackle medium dried I added a coat of Vintage White. When the paint chips are dry, add a coat of acrylic matte finish spray sealer.
