Backupify Raises $4.5 Million To Back Up Data In The Cloud. Backupify, a cloud computing service that backs up data on other cloud computing services, has raised $4.5 Million in Series A funding co-led by Avalon Ventures and General Catalyst, with Lowercase Capital and First Round Capital participating in the round. Founded in 2008 by Rob May, Backupify backs up all your data on services like Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, Flickr, WordPress, Blogger, and YouTube. The service keeps all the raw data for you and creates a downloadable PDF with, for instance, all your Tweets, direct messages, followers, people you follow, and profile info. Backupify offers free and premium versions of the service.

The company says that its offerings is gaining traction amongst enterprise customers who are looking to preserve data from social media outlets, and help backup data in the cloud.
