A relatively new category in this space is the ‘Social Networking for Schools’ platform, built around the same model as popular on-line social networks. Back at the beginning, I viewed Edmodo as an easy way to post content for my students online, for students to submit their work online and for me to send my students urgent important messages outside of school hours. I was so excited to find edmodo because it provided me with just what I needed – a teacher & student friendly web-based tool that facilitated the sharing of resources. When I first started using edmodo they didn’t even have 500,000 users. Now they have over 5 million and it has been so exciting being a part of the continued development of this tool – my favourite web tool ever! I’ve written HEAPS of posts about edmodo, and my edmodo posts continue to be the most popular posts on my blog. I’ve decided to put all of these posts on one page because I think it might help people new to edmodo and those wanting to see how it can be used in the classroom. So, I hope it helps!
