42 Amazingly Fun And Useful Things You Print For Free. DIY | Make Your Own Hanging Laundry Hamper - Making Nice in the Midwest. Were you wondering where we hid the hamper in our little girl’s nursery? Well, wonder no more! (Or perhaps I’m being presumptuous, and you weren’t wondering at all… in which case, feel free to read on anyways!) I sort of ran out of floor space in the nursery, so when I found this idea for a hanging hamper on Martha Stewart’s website, and when I realized I had all of the supplies I needed on hand, it took me about five minutes (or less?)

To whip up this handy hamper to hang inside baby girl’s closet. The laundry bag on Martha Stewart’s website was an actual laundry bag, held open by a large embroidery hoop. First I assembled the hanging hamper by sandwiching the ends of the pillowcase in between the embroidery hoop parts. 20 DIY Home Decor Ideas using Decorative Paper.

I recently shared a hub about different ways pretty patterned papers, like scrapbook paper and others, can be used for different craft projects and a few of them were home decor crafts but there are still so many things you can do with decorative papers, especially for home decorating purposes. Using pretty paper to update furniture and other decorative pieces can really help give things a fresh new look. A few other things you can do is use it to decorate candles, create beautiful wreaths and chandeliers and lots of other decorative items. Scrapbook paper is wonderful, but I know what you may be thinking. Price wise, it really can be expensive but not always.

If you need just a sheet or two you can buy them by the sheet usually for about .25 a piece. Look for sales and also you can use 40 and 50% coupons at craft stores. One more thing- You will see Mod Podge mentioned a lot in this hub. Easy DIY Paper Flowers. Happy New Year SNAP! Friends! This is Jessica from Pen N’ Paper Flowers and I’m happy to kick off 2014 with a fun and easy DIY for you today – inspired by Chinese New Year. When I was asked to post about something related to Chinese New Year I began researching the traditions of the holiday because honestly, I didn’t really know too much about it.

As I read through the many different descriptions of the typical holiday traditions aside from the mention of fireworks, red envelopes, a thorough house cleaning and a New Year’s Eve Dinner there was one recurring detail that resonated with me…the reference to paper decorations hanging in windows and on doors during the 15 day New Year Festival. I immediately felt inspired to get out my scissors and paper and get to paper crafting – which is one of my very favorite things. All you need is some paper or card stock, a pair of scissors and a glue gun (or tape if you prefer). STEP ONE: Cut a circle from a piece of paper.

LOVE these paper flowers! DIY Chalkboard Mason Jar Candle Centerpiece - Heart Love Weddings. There’s always a lot of excitement around here when we create a fun, simple DIY and I have to say I think that this is one of my favorites. Mason jars have certainly come a long way over the last few years. Or let’s say, uses for them. Certainly more than just for weddings and lest we forget, for canning fruits and vegetables. Remember we used to solely use them to preserve food? And I know, some areas of our country have always used them for drinks too. We in New England are a little slow to embrace anything new except for technology, so mason jars are not as popular up here like they are in the South and Midwest. When I called a few hardware stores and even grocery stores to check if they carried the limited edition blue mason jars, I might as well have been asking if they carried alien snack food.

Here are the list of supplies (many of which are readily available at your local craft, hardware, grocery stores, or online): 1 Mason Jar1 Baby Food Jar – yes, baby food. Enjoy! Xoxo. DIY Wedding Pom Pom Vines. I have a soft spot in my heart for colorful paper and hanging decorations, which means of my favorite things in the world is garlands. For months I’ve been trying to come up with an excuse for a party just so I can make tons of them. This project is a simple twist on a pom pom garland by stringing them vertically with paper leaves so they become vines. You can hang them in trees or tie them to a strand across a ceiling to fill up a room. Customize your own by using different colored tissue paper, cutting different leaves and flower types, or even cutting paper birds and tying them into the strands. Click “more” below to see the rest of the project… -Anna of Rifle Design Supplies 1. cutting mat, 2. twine, 3. craft paper, 4. assorted tissue paper, 5. scissors, 6. floral wire Directions To create the tissue paper pom poms: Accordion fold 7 sheets of tissue paper together with 7 folds, each about 1 inch wide.

I love to read, just about anything from the silly and childish to the tear jerking and latest craze. So I have (finally--I know, I know) put together this super-duper easy Book Cover tutorial, that any level sewer seamstress can do, for any size book, hey you can even hand stitch it! Materials: -Outer fabric (I used canvas) -Inner fabric (I used cotton) -Lightweight fusible interfacing -Brown or butcher paper -Pencil -Ruler -Trim's (lace, buttons, rickrack) optional -1/4" seams where used thruout.

Cut out (or piece together) a piece of paper larger than your book, height and width wise. Wrap paper around your book, crease and mark the edges with a pencil. Now, you are going to add your seam and inner flap allowances.I added 1/2" to the top and bottom, and 2 1/2" to each side (for inner flap). And now, the fun part! So I attached my bright cherry red rickrack in place. (almost done!) Your all done!!! Doesn't your book look nice and cozy now? Doily Lace Candle Votive Tutorial. I have had a doily table runner laying around the house forever. It didn't look right on our table so I didn't know what to do with it. I ended up using it to make the candle votives on our night stand a little prettier. Now, this tutorial can be done in several other ways. Lace can be used instead of a doily. Vases or mason jars can be used instead of candle votives.

The possibilities are endless but the end result is the same: pretty! What you'll need: Doily or Lace Votive(s) Scissors Hot Glue Gun Fabric Stiffener (optional) If the fabric you are using frays easily, you will want to spray it with some fabric stiffener before you begin. Once the fabric is trimmed to the correct measurements, wrap it around the votive and secure with hot glue. And that's it! The DIY post I have coming up next is a yummy recipe for Raspberry Ice Cream Cake. Father’s Day DIY: Embossed leather tag and tie clip. By Jane Trash What you’ll need: Embossed Leather Tag KitPencilPaperLow-tack painter’s tapeWooden block or rulerHammer or malletCutting boardX-ACTO knife Leather is more receptive to being stamped when it’s damp. Dip your leather pieces into a bowl of water.

They don’t need to soak, just dampen them. Let the leather dry. Try a few mock-up drawings before you start. I found if difficult to eyeball the layout because it’s very easy for a few letters to be crooked and make the whole piece look wonky. Hold your ruler or wooden block on the tape line and put your letter punch up against the flat surface to ensure straight, properly lined-up lettering. It’s hammer time. Working on a proper cutting board will absorb a lot of the sound. Gently peel off your layout material. Loop your leather cord through the hole to complete your luggage tag. Use an epoxy to glue your small leather-stamped piece to your tie clip. Diy neck candy | The Lovely Drawer. Yes people! I finally have a new DIY for you! All those volumes mankind has been printing for the past hundreds of years since the invention of the printing press — oh yes I did just bring up the invention of the printing press and no I don’t know when that was without googling it — all the books are disappearing, you guys. It’s an emergency. All the styled bookshelves are devoid of books!

The Secret Belgian Binding These instructions show you how to bind a book with an interesting pattern of weaving which laces the front and back covers to the spine.

Included is the sewing of the text block (a set of four signatures) which is attached to the inside spine of the cover. The secret is in the weave of the cover and in attaching the text block. It is not difficult to do but requires patience in getting the threads taut so that the book does not wobble. Hedi Kyle rediscovered this binding attributed to the Belgians and she solved the mystery of how to make it. The materials and tools needed are as follows: Questions or comments? Callaloo Soup: Tuesday er, Thursday To-Do | Spiral Bound Journal.

Remember the spiral bound art journal from last week? Here's another one I made with the June Little Black Dress Kit I've become quite obsessed with them actually, so it wasn't difficult for me to make yet another and do a step by step tutorial. But first: The Bind-it-All was one of those tools I had to have because it seemed like if I got one I could immediately whip out 5 mini albums in one sitting. Sadly this was not the case, the thing actually had a learning curve. I messed up pretty much all the notebooks I tried to make at first. Here's what you'll need to make the journal - the finished dimensions are 5&1/2"x8" A Bind-it-All machine and 3/4" o-wire A stack of papers cut to 5&1/2"x8" (more on this in a bit) One piece of patterned paper or cardstock 12"x8" Two pieces of chipboard also 5&1/2"x8" Rulers, paper scorer, pencil etc.

The papers I used for my pages didn't all measure 5&12 by 8, some were smaller as you can see here Measure your O-Wire to decide how many spirals you will use. a. B. DIY Bookbinding Video.
