Alexander Chen – Conductor: mta.me

Using the MTA’s actual subway schedule, the piece begins in realtime by spawning trains which departed in the last minute, then continues accelerating through a 24 hour loop. The visuals are based on Massimo Vignelli’s 1972 diagram. Subway Details The piece follows some rules. Developer Details mta.me is built in HTML5/Javascript. I originally wrote the physical string plucking code for the still-in-progress Crayong project. Music Length determines pitch, with longer strings playing lower notes. Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt - the Seventh Wonder of the Ancient World

A year ago Sergey Semenov tried to rent a helicopter in Cairo to shoot the pyramids. It didn't work. "No photos allowed due of the close proximity of the military base" such was the explanation. However there was positive news — a story of a French science enthusiast, who bribed local guides and got on top of a pyramid with his equipment to measure some magnetic fields. We have to say that pyramids are surrounded by high fence with motion sensors; and special guards with machine guns and security dogs patrol the perimeter during non-tourist hours. WebGL Water

Made by Evan Wallace This demo requires a decent graphics card and up-to-date drivers. If you can't run the demo, you can still see it on YouTube. Interactions: Draw on the water to make ripples Drag the background to rotate the camera Press SPACEBAR to pause and unpause Drag the sphere to move it around Press the L key to set the light direction Press the G key to toggle gravity Features: Raytraced reflections and refractions Analytic ambient occlusion Heightfield water simulation * Soft shadows Caustics (see this for details) ** WebGL Water Simulation" by Evan Wallace. From the Author: A pool of water rendered with reflection, refraction, caustics, and ambient occlusion.

WebGL Water Simulation" by Evan Wallace

The pool is simulated with a heightfield and contains a sphere that can interact with the water's surface. This demo will only work on WebGL implementations with graphics cards that support floating point textures, screen-space partial derivatives, and vertex texture fetches. Google Chrome is currently the only browser that supports all of these. Technology: lightgl.js Tags: 3D WebGL. 100,000 Stars. Each alive cell has 4 states: Up, right, down, left. at each cycle, the cells move themselves in the direction of their internal states. This set of rules produces chaotic results in some settings, therefore you can end up with never repeating, gradually evolving sequences.

Anyway, this implementation does not use the OpenGL extension OES_TEXTURE_FLOAT. Instead a 16bit "minifloat" buffer is used here. The extension might still be a good start for optimization!
