Find out who hates you on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn | Features. Posted on 28 Jan 2011 at 10:40 Social networking is designed to bring us together. But how can you find out who’s not being so friendly towards you? Simon Brew investigates Social-networking sites thrive on the notion that the world is full of people who want to be your friend. They want to talk to you, befriend you, send you 140 character updates on their life. Dig a little deeper, though, and there’s the side you rarely get to see. Given that social-networking sites like to put across a happy-clappy image of friendship and joy, it’s not surprising that they’re less keen to tell you when someone doesn’t want to be as friendly with you any more. And rogue app writers take advantage of the sites’ reluctance to reveal who can’t stand you, offering up all manner of “Find out who hates you” apps that do nothing more than steal your login details. But if you’re inherently curious, there are tools and services that can get you just that information.

Virtually There. Doing business without the traditional trappings means equipping employees with the right platforms. When I started Human Business Works, there was never a question that it would be a virtual business. The name of the game is staying in contact with my team and working with deliverables in mind--not proximity. Making it work requires a comprehensive set of useful tools. Here's what we've come up with as staples in running our virtual business. Communication Google Apps. We use a hosted Google Apps solution for e-mail. Collaboration Google Docs. At HBW, we went with a virtual office because it costs less, it keeps people closer to home and these tools ease any concerns on collaboration.
