Introduction The lessons, activities and materials in this Toolkit are designed to supplement the lesson plans in Toolkit 1 and Toolkit 3 of the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Career Development Toolkit binder. They were created for ABE/GED instructors to use to enhance and incorporate in their reading, writing and math lessons with the purpose of linking job and career-building skills to academic skills and CASAS Competencies. The original MSDE Career Development Toolkit, including Toolkits 1 and 3, can be downloaded at http://docushare.msde.state.md.us/docushare/dsweb/View/Collection-11674 These suggested lesson ideas and activities were prepared by Susan Beare*, ABE Instructor at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland.
