I don't believe my passport was needed at all but don't recall if I presented it - regardless I am sure I had it just in case. I know I did not present my US license or my international AAA license. I was able to obtain the document which shows all previous owners, the title transfer form, and the padron document that stays with the vehicle.
I had to make sure it had been inspected prior to purchase, Revision Technica, and had the document with me demonstrating it passed and was up to date.
