Welcome to the 3rd Annual Allyn Scura Eyewear Challenge , sponsored by our all-time favorite eyewear and sunglass outfitter, Allyn Scura . The challenge: Identify the nine bespectacled or sunglassified MBs above and you will be entered to win a pair of Allyn Scura frames ($175 value) — like The Legend favored by reigning People "Sexiest Man Alive" Bradley Cooper — or a $100 credit you can apply toward any vintage frames Allyn Scura carries. It's entirely up to you. To enter simply email editor@magnificentbastard.com with the names of the men pictured, and in the unlikely event of a tie — this is the hardest contest yet — what they all have in common. One entry per email address. Good luck.

The lack of comics so far this week is due to me recording a song for the Song Fu competition held on ASiteCalledFred.com . The prompt for the first round was “bioluminescence” and here is my submission below. If you want to hear more of the entries, check out this link to the Song Fu forum. http://www.channelate.com/

Put This On

Affordable Basics Most people want to dress well, but they don’t care to spend a small fortune or an inordinate amount of time searching for deals. That means no fancy boutiques or thrift stores, just readily available things that can be quickly purchased for not too much money. Obviously, if you want the best things, you have to spend either time or money. http://putthison.com/
If he decides to run a marathon he should start sleeping in an altitude tent at around 3,000m – his running will improve immeasurably with little effort This is a sliding sport which has evolved to professionally mad manly proportions and there’s now ice all over the UK which could be fashioned into numerous bob runs. For the bob you must join two sleds together with a board and attach a steering mechanism to the front one. The back, sides and front are covered to make a fortified, faster sliding machine and two or four-man teams fly down a mile-long, ice-covered course in this aerodynamic sled at speeds of as much as 90mph. http://manifesto.frenchconnection.com/

http://theimpossiblecool.tumblr.com/ Ansel Adams was once quoted as saying “A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.” A man this could not ring truer for is photographer Brian Hamill. A New York City native that has seen it all. (Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci, Brooklyn, 1979) The image above of De Niro and Pesci first caught my eye from Brian’s catalog of work, but as you start to dig, the faces that shaped our world in the 1960’s and 70’s begin to emerge from behind his lens. Recently I sat down with him at my local coffee spot, Minerva Cafe, to hear a few stories and to provide a link between images on this site and the eye behind them.
