When I first got introduced to modes I was a little bit overwhelmed, but also excited to explore this whole new world of boundless possibilities.

There are 7 modes which can be derived from the major scale: 1 – Ionian 2 – Dorian 3 – Phrygian 4 – Lydian 5 – Mixolydian 6 – Aeolian 7 – Locrian Each mode starts and stops on a different note within the major scale.
