Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hungers. The talented folks at Spectral Motion released test footage for their animatronic “Edward” head fromHansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.
In case you haven’t seen the film, the character is a troll Hansel and Gretel meet up with in their journey. Derek Mears was the man in the giant suit, but providing Edward’s range of facial expressions was Spectral. Inside, check out the video which demonstrates just how far animatronic technology has come. When we spoke to director Tommy Wirkola, he told us, “To be honest, there were some skeptical voices about using an animatronic troll because animatronics don’t have the best reputation. But I just love what Guillermo del Toro did with Hellboy and that’s the feeling we wanted. We agree, this thing turned out great.
