Perfect French Toast, Recipe from The Martha Stewart Show, November 2005. Best Steak Marinade in Existence Recipe. Creamy Garlic Shells. Creamy Garlic Shells are made with fridge and pantry staples, come together in about 15 minutes, and are pasta-packet (and funky preservative) free! Confession: I have to physically avert my eyes every time I pass the pasta sides packets in the grocery store. You know the ones. They come in mouthwatering flavors like Creamy Chicken (a personal favorite of mine in college,) Butter & Herb (yes & yes), and Broccoli Cheddar (everybody’s fave,) and are seriously like, $.88 a packet.

You can’t beat that with a stick! What I’d like to beat with a stick, however, is the ingredient list and nutritional information that comes along with these unfortunately delicious side dishes. A little detective work at the grocery store revealed, well there’s no easy way to put this, chicken fat, listed in one packet. Hydrolyzed soy protein, whatever that is, in more of ‘em, and preservatives in most. If I wanted that much salt I’d grab a handful of delicious Lays – not a wee scoop of pasta!

Just 3-4 minutes! Braided Spaghetti Bread » The official blog of America's favorite frozen dough. We are carb lovers at our house, so when I saw the Braided Spaghetti Bread recipe in the Rhodes Home Baked Family Favorites with frozen dough cookbook I knew we would love it. “Scalloped” is an attractive word, isn’t it? When I hear it I think of several things: first, there’s scallops, as in the seafood—totally delicious. Then there’s the scalloped shape that can live on the edge of a pair of shorts or on the collar of a woman’s blouse—always pretty and dainty. And of course scalloped potatoes also comes to mind, which carries my imagination to a land of crispy potato skins drenched in a sea of cheese and cream.

I can think of no better place to exist, actually. So when I came across TK member Shelbi Keith’s recipe for Scalloped Hasselback Potatoes, I knew we were going to become fast friends. I couldn’t have been more correct. The first players up are: a few Russet potatoes (I’m sure other varieties will work equally as well), Parmigiano-Reggiano and butter. Long before Himself and children, my roommate Sara and I would make the trek to White Castle’s for some sliders or Gut Busters as we liked to call them. Piping hot and smelling so good we could down two or three before our brain knew what was happening and made us slow down.

Kinda like Krispie Kreme Hot and Nows. Those days are far away and so is the nearest White Castle, therefore I have resorted to making my own. I have tried the frozen kind but I prefer fresh. Panko Mozzarella Sticks! I first discovered panko bread crumbs back in 1999. Please don’t ask me how I know that; I just do.

I remember vividly reading a recipe that contained panko bread crumbs, and I remember vividly that I was nursing my second baby, and I remember vividly that I was hormonal and desperate, and the next thing I knew I was ordering panko bread crumbs from some market in Chelsea that the magazine recommended. On the phone, of course, because although I had a computer at the time, I certainly wouldn’t have been cool enough to use it to order panko bread crumbs. Plus, I was nursing. Not enough hands. Panko bread crumbs, in a word, are delicious. Panko are Japanese breadcrumbs, and are lighter and flakier than regular breadcrumbs. When I set out to make a recipe with panko bread crumbs, I started in the direction of something Asian/exotic. So guess what I did? Let me back up: my family LOVES fried mozzarella sticks.

I came across this recipe that uses cauliflower instead of potatoes. Hmmm not a big cauliflower fan so I wasn't sure. If there is a choice of either celery or cauliflower in a veggie dish 9 times out of 10 I will choose the celery. BUT I decided to give it a try since the reviews were outstanding.

I have a comment on this comment, then I have a comment for the OP. To Amy: Removing to foil is simply a way to keep the steaks warm whilst resting (FOR 5 MINUTES AT LEAST… ALWAYYYS!). When the OP says remove to foil, he/she doesn’t mean to wrap them tightly. They mean to place them in a plate, and form a loose ‘covering’ of foil. This will simply trap some of the heat and allow it to remain warm, without trapping too much moisture. To the OP and to anyone else who decides to try ‘flambe’: It is important to note: When you add cognac or any other high proof liquour to a hot pan, then ignite, you are not burning the alcohol itself, per se.

. - Never light alcohol while there is an open flame/heat source. . - Notice how in the OP, they remove the pan from the stove and then light. . - Keep a heavy lidded pan nearby, just in case things Do go awry (if you follow the first 2 tips, they won’t) - Always have at least an ABC rated fire extinguisher within arm’s reach.
