Our young people are being transformed…” Above are some of the words spoken to the staff of Sports Friends Nigeria by the president of a denomination called Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN). He spoke them as we paid him a visit to donate balls as a part of our partnership obligation to the denomination.
COCIN is a denomination with membership strength of nearly 4 million people spread across Nigeria, Niger, Malawi and, recently, London as well. It is important to note that, since the end of 2010, security has further deteriorated in Jos. Responses from local and national authorities have proven mostly ineffective; police and military action also has had little success. The following provides a overview of SPORTSLIFE INTERNATIONAL, Inc. (SI), the programs it intends to offer and the strategy it will implement over the next several years to achieve its objectives. SI is a non-profit organization founded to promote positive Christian values to youth of the world through sports leagues, camps, clinics, and after school programs. Initially, SI is focussing its efforts on the children and families of Ballymun, a disadvantaged section of Dublin, Ireland. Daniel B. Tabb, founder of SI, established the organization in order to respond to the needs of underprivileged children through positive athletic and recreational activities. Mr. Tabb and his wife Amy moved to the Ballymun area on January 10, 2002. The programs were implemented in five phases.

These churches have a heart for caring for orphans, but their ministry is limited by their resources. World Orphans connects the resources of Western churches with indigenous churches that care for children, and provides training and resources necessary to deliver Biblical Family Care to orphaned children. World Orphans' Biblical Family Care World Orphans believes that it is God's heart to care for the whole child - spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally. If we provide children with a clean safe home, healthy food, and educate them well, but don't introduce them to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we have failed to meet their greatest need.

A Sporting Infusion. 13 Sep, 2009 | Ukraine OM International This summer, members of the OM Ukraine sports team were asked by local churches to lead sports and team-building games at various summer camps and festivals for children and youth.
Until recently, for many of these churches, sports was considered worthless, or worse, a sin. To see these churches starting to become eager to add sports ministry to their usual summer camps is an exciting thing! Sports such as Ultimate Frisbee, floorball, low ropes courses, team-building games, rappelling, and even a high zip-line are used by the OM sports team, along with other more traditional sports, such as football, to encourage and equip the local Church to better reach out to and serve their communities. The younger generation is eager for something new and interesting, and these kind of sports fill a growing need in Ukrainian churches to provide interesting activities for young people.
