Wilmot Li, Maneesh Agrawala, Brian Curless, David Salesin We present a system for creating and viewing interactive exploded views of complex 3D models.

Automated Generation of Interactive 3D Exploded View Diagrams

In our approach, a 3D input model is organized into an explosion graph that encodes how parts explode with respect to each other. We present an automatic method for computing explosion graphs that takes into account part hierarchies in the input models and handles common classes of interlocking parts. Our system also includes an interface that allows users to interactively explore our exploded views using both direct controls and higher-level interaction modes. Probably one of the most ubiquitous and necessary requirements in any aquarium is the proper movement of water within, as well as to and from, the tank.

While for many years the main way this was done in tanks was through air stones and lift tubes, most modern aquarium systems rely on electric water pumps of one form or another. Water pumps are typically more powerful, quieter and much more flexible in terms of the applications they can be used for than their earlier air-powered counter parts. The goal of this article, then, is to describe how these water pumps operate, how one goes about selecting a pump for a given application and then how best to install or place your pump for that use. IQAir HealthPro Technology - Indoor Air Purifiers with HEPA. HEPA Air Purifiers Developed in the 1940s, High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) technology was made popular by use in medical cleanrooms, and it is still the most reliable and effective technology used.

IQAir HealthPro Technology - Indoor Air Purifiers with HEPA

Air purifiers equipped with a HEPA air filter absorb up to 99.97% of all particles, like allergens, pollen, dust, dander, and others that are 0.03 microns and larger in size; harmful indoor air particles that cause allergy and asthma symptoms are measured to be about 0.03 microns or larger. Used auto engine air filter, clean side Used auto engine air filter, dirty side Auto engine air filter clogged with dust and grime Some buildings, as well as aircraft and other man-made environments (e.g., satellites and space shuttles) use foam, pleated paper, or spun fiberglass filter elements.

Sorbent

It has a large internal surface area and good thermal conductivity. It is typically supplied in pellets of 1 mm to 2 mm diameter and roughly 5 mm length or as grains of the order 1 mm. Occasionally as beads up to 5 mm diameter. They are typically made from aluminium oxide with a porous structure.Materials used to absorb other materials due to their high affinity for doing so. Popsci. Paint Your Roof With Working Solar Cells Made from Grass Clippings. Installing a solar roof on your home could one day be as simple as mixing your yard clippings into a stew of inexpensive chemicals and painting the resulting mixture right onto your rooftop.

An MIT researcher has developed a method of manufacturing solar panels on the spot from agricultural waste, sidestepping the need for silicon and making ready-to-mix solar cheap and abundant virtually anywhere. But first things first. What MIT's Andreas Mershin has done here is pretty interesting. His chemical cocktail extracts the photosynthesizing molecules from plant matter--including chlorophyll--and stabilizes them such that they can be spread on a glass substrate. Thermoelectric "Power Felt" Fabric Lets You Sit on Your Phone to Power It. Carbon Dioxide Room Units. Chemical 'sponge' could filter CO2 from the air - environment - 03 October 2007. Sucking carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere could provide a last-ditch solution to climate change, according to calculations performed by a US scientist.

Frank Zeman at Columbia University in New York, US, believes CO2 could be efficiently extracted from the atmosphere using a relatively simple chemical process, before being buried underground. This would help reduce the build-up of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere - a phenomenon that is widely blamed for global warming Carbon capture and storage (CCS) is currently being explored as a way to reduce CO2 emissions from large industrial plants. The idea is to isolate - or "scrub" - the gas from factory exhaust before it is released into the atmosphere. But Zeman believes CCS could also offer a way to soak up CO2 that has already been emitted into the atmosphere. Unlike factories and power plants, cars, planes and homes each emit relatively small amounts of CO2. Transportation, for instance, accounts for about 15% of global emissions. CO2 Home.

Carbon Dioxide In The Home - Environmental Hazard. Primary Sources Carbon dioxide accumulation inside the home is normally related directly to the number of occupants.

Carbon Dioxide In The Home - Environmental Hazard

Concentration of the gas is usually highest where homeowners (and, if applicable, pets) spend most of their time. Since increasing levels of CO2 encourage plant growth, an unusual flowering or blooming of household plants may indicate an overabundance of carbon dioxide. Also, carbon dioxide by nature is 1.5 times heavier than air, and therefore tends to ’pool’ in low areas such as basements. Carbon Dioxide Reduction Technologies. Common fuels—whether they are simple hydrocarbons or oxygenated hydrocarbons or carbohydrates—can be economically produced from the respective oxides of carbon and hydrogen by simple chemical reductions. These reactions are efficiently carried out by applying fundamentals of the reduction process.

When converting minerals into metals, energy is consumed. Even though energy in various forms can be used in achieving this conversion, or reduction, typically a reductant that can carry the anion of the mineral away from the desired element is used. The potential for economic production of common fuels from the respective oxides of carbon and hydrogen by simple chemical reductions1 was the inspiration for the CO2 Reduction Metallurgy Symposium at the TMS 2008 Annual Meeting.

Photochemical carbon dioxide reduction. Photochemical carbon dioxide reduction harnesses solar energy to convert CO2 into higher-energy products. The chemical conversion of CO2 already occurs on an industrial scale in the manufacture of solvents such as formic acid, but photochemical reduction differs in that it relies on a renewable energy source, the sun. Because CO2 is a greenhouse gas, there is environmental interest in producing artificial systems that are efficient photocatalysts, but the low turn-over rates of current methods have prohibited wide-scale industrial application. Overview[edit] [1] Molecular sensitizers that meet this criterion often include a metal center, as the d-orbital splitting in organometallic species often falls within the energy range of far-UV and visible light.
