But now for something completely different: in my latest project scan.tag.is I’m not dealing with EXIF, IPTC and other “textual” metadata residing in photo file headers, but with metadata consisting of pixels. scan.tag.is (among other things) tries to decode datamatrix codes embedded in scanned documents in order to process them further based on the decoded information.
As scan.tag.is is written in Python, the excellent pydmtx wrapper for libdmtx was the logical choice for this task.
