Discovery Bottles II (Pre-School, Science) Preschool Craft: Easter Cross. I saw this idea in a catalog and figured we could do basically the same thing at home with what we already have. Finally gave me an activity to use some of the pretty tissue paper from Carter's baby shower. Only had to get some fresh pink from my pack of new tissue paper. Draw a cross shape on paper. Cover it in glue. Then wad up tissue paper and stick it to the glue.

Eli did very well with it. And Hannah didn't do so bad either considering I was just letting her do her thing instead of instructing her. Hannah's Eli's Mine. Initial art. Paper plate fish. Yarn Wrapped Letters {Classic Kids Crafts} I am inspired by the book Raising a Creative Kid to start a weekly series of very simple crafts (Classic Kids Crafts) that we can do with our kids. I want them to be simple so we can get right to the DOING of the craft without much fuss, and so they leave room for creativity, problem solving, and for parents to connect with the kids instead of being worried about the details. These crafts will be good for kids approximately ages 4-7 and I’ll include a way to alter the craft so that you can include younger siblings as well. Often older kids will happily participate, especially when given a chance to take the craft in their own direction. These craft How-Tos will be photo driven so you can easily look at them on a tablet or phone and just look at the pictures to see what to do.

Yarn Wrapped Letters Supplies: Wrapping the letter: Kids might need a little help getting each piece of yarn going. Each problem you solve gives you more confidence to tackle the next problem that comes along. Ta-da! Create a Venn Diagram Creature! | Activity. Teachers have employed graphic organizers as a way to help students arrange and manage their ideas for years. These popular techniques, such as the Venn diagram, are widely-used for good reason. They provide the perfect starting point to brainstorm the ways that two ideas or objects are similar or different! Introduce your child to this organizational method by helping her create a Venn diagram fantasy creature! Stickers and Stars:: Solar System Hats. Today was the last day of our Solar System unit. They really had a great time learning about this subject. I always love when we make hats. So I decided to have them make a solar system hat by coloring, cutting, and gluing the planets in order on a sentence strip. Then I took a bendable straw and taped it in the center. The kids taped a sun on the end of the straw so it dangled around all the planets. They turned out really cute! Act it out.
