Pip lets you send preset messages with just a tap. How do you get a message across to someone if you don’t feel like talking or typing? A new app called Pip lets you send notifications to your contacts who also use the app, just by tapping on a preset message. So yeah, it’s kind of like Yo on (mild) steroids. Reports TechCrunch, Pip is being developed by a 20-member team at Aol Alpha, an internal lab of sorts where the parent company fosters innovation, seen here in the form of a mobile-first messaging app. Users can select a contact from their list of fellow Pip users and send a quick text just by tapping on available messages like “Call me,” “I’m running late” (with preset time intervals), “Did you do that thing?

,” “Where are you?” The team is considering offering custom message packages in the future (for use with colleagues and significant others, for example), similar to how mobile messaging apps like Line and WeChat offer stickers. Pip is available for free on Android and iOS devices in the US now. iOS. 6 Tools for Teachers by Bill Gates - NSays.in. Technology has changed a lot about the way we live and work, but one area stands out as an exception: education. Many teachers still have to use the same tools—blackboards, textbooks, overhead projectors—that their own teachers used decades ago. That’s beginning to change. New apps, games, and websites are helping teachers work with their students in new ways and making it easier for them to connect with their colleagues. At the same time, states and districts are increasingly focused on giving teachers better feedback and doing more to help them keep learning.

And reforms like the Common Core State Standards are creating a nationwide market that is encouraging more companies to develop innovative tools for teachers. Thanks to these three trends, I think that in five years the average quality of instruction in America’s schools will be meaningfully better than it is today. I recently had the chance to spend time with some of the new technology products being designed for teachers. Movie Review: Action Jackson is a milestone in feminist cinema. Action Jackson is a drinking game of a film, one well over the so-bad-it’s-good line, its main merit being that it holds some genuine surprises -- and makes sure its hero looks like a jackass, says Raja Sen. “AJ,” the girl gasps into her cellphone, breathlessly and furtively while gangsters surround her, “Some people are after me.” Efficient to the last word, her man wastes no time in getting to the point: “What are they wearing?” This is but a taste of the relentless absurdity served up by Action Jackson, the peculiar new film from Prabhudeva.

It is an uneven, tacky, cheesy actioner, a film that has much going catastrophically wrong (the brunt of it involving Sonakshi Sinha) but it is also — surprise, surprise — at times incredibly zany and, much more importantly, a film that strikes back against the unending misogyny routinely perpetrated by our heroes in these larger-than-life movies. That’s right, Ajay Devgn is anything but a ‘hero’ in this film. It’s a loony trip. No Kunal, no. Why is Sooraj Pancholi nervous about his Bollywood debut? Aditya Pancholi’s son who will be launched next year, states that he is nervous about his debut. Debutant Sooraj Pancholi who has so far breezed through the toughest of dramatic and action scenes in his debut film Hero is tense about facing the camera with his father Aditya Pancholi.

Aditya has been signed on at the last minute for the Hero remake. The father and son have some moments of shared dramatic intensity.Says Sooraj, “I have seen my parents’ performances. Though my mother (Zarina Wahab) is acknowledged as a good actor my father didn’t get his due. He was really good in Mahasangram, Yaad Rakhegi Duniya, Saathi and many others.” But it’s not his dad’s talent that Sooraj is apprehensive about. “Just the thought of sharing screen space with my father is quite intimidating. Revealed: Details of Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on Sanjay Dutt! The director of PK reveals details of his plan on making a biopic based on the actor’s life.

Rajkumar spills the beans After 3 films with him, I only knew 1% of the man”, Rajkumar Hirani said explaining why he chose Sanjay Dutt’s life for a biopic. With a 100% track record, Rajkumar Hirani is a brand by himself, not unlike the Khans and today’s other ‘superstars’. He owns his product, with novelty as his trademark, and has created his own niche in an industry that thrives on formula. Out of his four superhit films released so far over the span of a decade or so, he has worked with Sanjay Dutt in three.

Obviously, one would think he’d be the best person to tell the story of Dutt’s turbulent life on film.Ask Hirani if he’s begun work on the Dutt biopic and he replies, “Yes, we are scripting it now. He’s firm about one thing. Sanju Baba was cool with Raju’s idea and excitedly told him, “Banao picture!” 7 Tricks to Write an Effective Email - NSays.in. While a lot of work that I do comes through previous relationships and someone connecting me to someone else, I certainly don’t know everyone and I have found cold email to be very successful in building business opportunities, but only if it is done the right way.

Below are some tips and tricks that I have found work well for me in making cold email effective: 1. Only bring people good stuff. That’s about as simple as I can say it. Most people, especially high-level executives, get bombarded with emails every day. I’ve found one thing to be generally true: If you bring someone something interesting, even if they are extremely important, they will respond and engage. 2. Attention spans are at an all-time low. 3. I remember being in school and learning the formal way to write a letter (header, address, etc.). I usually start an email very informally with something such as, “Hi Joe — Hope this email finds you well.” 4. 5. 6. I have seen or heard this happen more than one would think. 7.

Facebook Releases Version 2.0 Update to Slingshot, Brings Retooled Features and Layout. A revised Slingshot app has been published to Google Play, after the team at Facebook decided to go back to the drawing board following much feedback received from users. In a blog post, the Slingshot team stated that when updating an application, it’s not only about what you add to the app, but what you remove.

“We understand that improving a product isn’t only about what you add, but about what you remove, so we made a simpler, cleaner, more fun Slingshot.” As for what’s new in version 2.0, users are treated to a simpler sharing process, with the convenience to share moments (photos and videos) with just a couple of taps, as well as the ability to edit moments with filters, drawing tools, and emojis. Moments will stick in you and your friend’s feed for 24 hours or until swiped away, which has been worked on from its previous iteration.

Here is a look at what’s new in the update, although, it’s basically a feature list for the app itself. What’s New. Apple Stores hosting free coding workshops December 11 for Hour of Code. Anushka Sharma: I was more intimidated by Aamir than my first co-star Shah Rukh! That’s what the Band Baaja Baaraat actress said when we met her recently. But apart from these two superstars, Anushka also spoke about Ranveer, Sushant and Virat. Read on to know what all she said… Anushka Sharma was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandolawhich hit the screens in January last year. Since then the leggy beauty has stayed away from the limelight but only because she was busy wrapping up her other projects inculding Rajkumar Hiran’s much-awaited film PK.

Co-starring Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Sushant Singh Rajput and Boman Irani, the film is slated to release on December 19. So we caught up with Ms Sharma to chat about PK but we ended up talking about lot more. From Shah Rukh Khan to Aamir to Ranveer Singh, Anushka got candid about everything including her personal life…. Were you in disbelief when Rajkumar Hirani offered you PK? Not like I couldn’t believe but I was very happy. So did it compensate for 3 Idiots? The thing is everybody is getting confused. Light-bending silicon strips are the key to super-fast computers.

No, that’s not a barcode you’re looking at — instead, it’s the likely future of computing. Stanford University researchers have developed an optical link that uses silicon strips to bend light at right angles, which future processors will likely need to transmit data at super-fast speeds. The key, as you might have gathered, is the series of gaps. When light hits the device, the combination of those gaps and silicon sends different wavelengths left and right.

You’re not limited to specific light bands or directions, either; you can use an algorithm to design the link you need within a matter of minutes. The technology is still young, but it’s designed to be compatible with existing fiber optic networks and could theoretically improve transfers on high-capacity data lines (such as internet backbones) in ways that aren’t possible with conventional optics. However, that’s just the start. 3 Powerful Presentation Tools For Teachers - NSays.in. Teachers are presenters. Let’s be frank. They get up in front of a room of people and present. It was the glorious year of 2008 when John Abraham bared his butt in Dostana for all to see.

Sigh. Has it really been that long? I, for one, loved it. It’s no wonder then, that he has his butt insured for a whooping sum of 10 crores. I’m not making this up. 4 years later, Tushar Kapoor bared his butt too, la John! It’s been two years and I’m still wondering how Tushar’s tits are so perky pointy.

Anyway, 2 years later, Tiger Shroff has done it. When he’s not shooting for drool-worthy covers, Tiger is gearing up for his second film with Sajid Nadiadwala and Sabbir Khan that promises to take action up another notch.
