A living wall, also referred to as a green wall, vertical garden, or sky farm, is usually part of a building and consists of some sort of vegetation. These types of gardens are sometimes referred to as urban gardening, because they are well-suited for an urban environment where space on the ground is very limited but vertical space is plentiful.
Similar to modular green roofs, panel green walls consist of a series of manufactured planting panels that are attached to a frame. The growing medium and plants are secure in these panels which fit together to form a solid looking wall of plants. Once established—and often right from the initial installation—these panels provide a beautiful and lush looking solid wall of green.
