Making the Double Ribbed StitchAs mentioned above, the double ribbed stitch can be done following the knit 2, purl 2 pattern. That is how it is done on a round loom. However, there is an easier way to make this stitch on the long loom.
The most difficult part is learning to wrap the loom. Once you get the wrap down to a rhythm, it's fun and easy. The wrap is shown on the photo to the left. The important thing to remember about this wrap is that you are tracing the yarn back across the loom exactly as it was placed the first time. When you've reached the last peg, simply loop around as seen on the lower right peg of the photo. Once you've wrapped two rows of the double ribbed stitch, you can knit off by using the Knifty Knitter hook that comes with the loom sets to gently lift the bottom loop outward, over and off the peg.
To begin, make a slip knot and place it on peg #1. Begin with an e-wrap and wrap the pegs (in single stitch, that is, 2 stitches wrapped onto the loom, knit off 1 over 1). To wrap the second row, come back behind the last peg, re-wrap it (for 2 stitches on that peg) and wrap the next peg and so on until you've reached the first peg. Knit off; to knit off, pull the bottom stitch over and off the peg, leaving one stitch on the peg.
