These Pantries Will Make a Type A's Day

We've found lots of inspirational ideas and organizational tips for creating your dream pantry, large or small. In a perfect world, every home would come with a large walk-in kitchen pantry with tons of storage space. If you're fortunate to have a large walk-in pantry, maximizing your available shelving and creating separate dedicated storage areas for dry goods, grab-and-go snacks, cookbooks, and serving pieces is the best way to make the most of your pantry. Clear, air-tight storage containers extend the shelf life of dried goods while helping to keep items uniform, organized, and easy to find at a glance. Open Shelving Solution Even if you don't have a large walk-in pantry, you can get the same look by using any open shelving you have in your kitchen. Wire bins on shelves are a great way to store canned goods, and wood chalkboard tags make a fun and efficient way to label baskets for quick identification. Dual-Purpose Pantry.

The Crafted Sparrow: Loose Change. Previously on Pinterest I’ve seen a few projects people had posted using change like pennies and nickels to tile their floors, or the counter tops.

The Crafted Sparrow: Loose Change

It’s a really cool look. I have a friend who was thinking of doing it, but has since decided to go the concrete route. She still wanted the pennies & copper look in her kitchen so as a housewarming present for her I created this Loose Change Eat Sign. Supplies: – Paper mache letters – Pennies – Weldbond glue or E6000 – Copper acrylic paint – Foam brush – Clear spray sealer, found by the spray paint Start by painting your paper mache letters copper. Then get your glue ready. I then layed out the pennies on each letter ahead of time. Festive Holiday DIY: Glitter Mason Jar Candles. 27 Nov Nothing says “Christmas” like glitter putting up the tree and setting up the nativity scene.

Festive Holiday DIY: Glitter Mason Jar Candles

Well, that and the trifecta of epic Christmas albums (Mariah, Bieber, N’Sync. Duh.). But seriously. The holidays are one of the only times where it’s socially acceptable to use glitter as an adult. If you’re looking for a quick, easy, festive holiday DIY with glitter (who isn’t?) It’s sort of like snowflakes, in a jar. Just make a glue wash (glue + water) and brush the inside of the mason jars. Add glitter of your choice (I like silver) to the inside of the jars, and roll/spin the jar around until the glitter coats the sides. Let dry, and….done. I brushed the glue almost all the way up to the top, but you could do it at various levels for the mismatched-yet-chic look. These take about five minutes to make, and definitely give the house a festive look, even when they aren’t lit. Seriously, iloveglitter. Like this: Mason Jar Soap Dispenser. **We now have an improved version of our mason jar soap dispensers available on Etsy and a post about them here !

** I finally made my mason jar soap dispensers! This project has been on my to do list for quite a while! First, I found a couple canning jars at the thrift store in two different sizes that would work as hand soap dispensers for the bathroom and kitchen. I've seen a few blogs where they painted their mason jars so I thought I would give it a try. I then took a nail and hammered it into the center of the jars' lids to start a hole. I then used a hot glue gun to glue my pump into place on the lid. At this point I spray painted the lid and pump to match and then screwed the lid onto my mason jars. I used an oil-rubbed bronze spray paint on the lid and pump for the kitchen to match the faucet I hope to one day have :o) And a satin nickel on the pump and lid for the bathroom to match the fixtures in there.

The paint will rub-off. Linking up with Young House Love and Bower Power. How to sew decorative pillow covers in just a few minutes. How to Make Giant Floor Pillows.
