Gift Ideas for poor creative souls (6)

You know how it goes, a friend calls you and invites you to dinner at the last minute. OMG! What gift can you take?! You scrabble around the cupboards trying to find a box of chocolates or a bottle of wine but find that most of the chocolates have been eaten and the wine has gone. http://www.totalartsoul.com/all-blogs/gift-ideas-for-poor-creative-souls-6.html
Suzanne Meridian Road saw a really nice hotel key rack and decided to build one of her own. See what she liked and how she built her own. I really like this key rack I decided I need one. Even though our present system of key organization was clearly working for us. Yeah. http://www.remodelaholic.com/2010/09/diy-wall-mounted-wooden-hotel-key-rack/

How to make a Felt Rose

http://www.parentingfuneveryday.com/?br=http://www.mamamoontime.com/2010/02/how-to-make-felt-rose.html Felt roses are so beautiful, and long lasting! Here is how you can make one, or a whole posy!, for yourself! Take a long length of felt (100% wool felt is a good thickness) about 25cm-30cm long and 4cm wide.
With Valentine's Day coming up I designed these little girl's barrettes in celebration of the rose. I liked the idea that they could add a little Valentine's spirit to any outfit, and also to be used long after the big day. --Molly

Cargo Scarf: Free your hands, and your mind will follow!

To make a cargo scarf, you will need: 1/2 yard 45" wide cotton for outer layer I chose a cute banana-print cotton; any decorative or fashion fabric will do, but it should be woven (not a stretchy knit). 1/2 yard lining This is the part of the scarf that will be against your skin, so choose something warm and comfortable. Softer felts, flannels or fleeces are all good options. Decorative trims These can be lace, eyelet tape, or whatever else you prefer. If you plan to adorn all the edges, you will need 4 1/2 yards of trim for a 68" scarf. http://www.instructables.com/id/Cargo-Scarf%3a-Free-your-hands%2c-and-your-mind-will-f/
