WeAreCulture24 | Action research

http://weareculture24.org.uk/projects/action-research/ Culture24 has been working collaboratively on an action research project with a range of cultural sector organisations to help them define and measure their success online. The final report, called ‘Let’s Get Real’, details the methodology, research and key findings. It was published in September 2011 at our conference of the same name in Bristol. The publication of this report couldn’t be more timely, with cuts across all areas of our cultural life and affecting almost every museum, gallery, arts organisation, library, local authority and government department.
While it is easy to get carried away with the number of followers that your museum attracts on Twitter or Facebook, it’s important to be objective about why you are using social media. Engagement is quality rather than quantity – regular sharing between a number of fans on Facebook demonstrates more engagement than a high number of fans who only leave one post on the wall and never come back. Créé en novembre 2009, la page Facebook du musée du Louvre accueille depuis mercredi son 400 000 fans. Sur ce total, "242 000 sont des utilisateurs actifs mensuels " précise la direction du musée ravie de la nouvelle. Le musée français se place ainsi en troisième position des musées dans le monde derrière le Moma (876 750 fans) et le Metropolitan Museum of Art de New York (561 523 fans). Les femmes en sont accrocs Selon la direction du musée, " 65 % des fans de la page sont des femmes et 30 % sont des hommes (les autres ne mentionnent pas leur sexe)" d'après les statistiques réalisées du 16 septembre au 15 octobre 2011.
