http://www.hahnlibrary.net/libraries/formgenre.html#p LCSH topical headings usable as genre headings The Library of Congress has begun issuing authority records for form & genre headings, but at the current rate, it will likely be several years before they finish with a first pass through all of the major categories of headings. In the meantime, the Library of Congress has confirmed (see Frequently Asked Question #Q28 ) that it is appropriate, with some exceptions, for libraries to choose to code form & genre headings in the format 655 _0 Heading. rather than the old method of coding them as topical headings ( 650 _0 Heading. ), as long as there is a topical authority record for the heading.
