Easy as D-I-Y: Kentucky Derby Fascinator - Dream Green DIY. A little known fact about me—I rode horses for years as a kid and later as a high school student, and was actually on the equestrian team in college (the little detail that it was just that one semester is beside the point).
In short, I’m a big fan of all things “horsey,” so the Kentucky Derby is one of the few sporting events that I’d love to attend one of these days. Since, sadly, I’ll be parked right here at home come race day this weekend, I decided to make the most of the long-distance occasion by coming up with a DIY fascinator—still showy, but demure enough for a humble viewing in our pint-sized home (rather than those massive open air stands). To make your own DIY topper, you’ll need a felt circle (mine came pre-cut with holes at the top for a banner, although I ended up cutting new ones of my own), a headband, scissors, faux flowers, feathers, floral pins and tulle.
Start by attaching your felt circle to the headband. Want another way to celebrate the big race in big style? DIY DERBY HAT - The Kitchy Kitchen. Two of my favorite ladies are from Kentucky, and proud of it too.
Dean and Whitney possess that perfect southern blend of ladylike manners with salty humor. They can arch an eyebrow sharper than a ruler, say “Bless your heart” so sweetly that you’d never know shade was thrown, and are the most fun people to drink mint juleps with – ever. They also look super cute in fancy hats. This post it dedicated to them. Les oiseaux du Marché de Noël de Yannick Lefrançois. The artist, filmmaker, and author Hito Steyerl is currently one of the central positions when it comes to reflecting on the social roles of art and museums, experimenting with media forms of presentation, and critically examining the use of artificial intelligence. Hito Steyerl was born in Munich in 1966, studied at the HFF – University of Television and Film Munich, and received her doctorate in philosophy at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 2003.
She is Professor for Experimental Film and Video at the University of the Arts in Berlin and has published numerous texts. For twenty years, her works have been exhibited in the art context and have received international attention. Hito Steyerl.
The Conference of the Birds. Persian poem by Sufi poet Attar The Conference of the Birds or Speech of the Birds (Persian: منطق الطیر, Manṭiq-uṭ-Ṭayr, also known as مقامات الطیور Maqāmāt-uṭ-Ṭuyūr; 1177) is a Persian poem by Sufi poet Farid ud-Din Attar, commonly known as Attar of Nishapur.
The title is taken directly from the Qur’an, 27:16, where Sulayman (Solomon) and Dāwūd (David) are said to have been taught the language, or speech, of the birds (manṭiq al-ṭayr). Attar’s death, as with his life, is subject to speculation. He is known to have lived and died a violent death in the massacre inflicted by Genghis Khan and the Mongol army on the city of Nishapur in 1221, when he was seventy years old. Synopsis In the poem, the birds of the world gather to decide who is to be their sovereign, as they have none. The hoopoe tells the birds that they have to cross seven valleys in order to reach the abode of Simorgh. 1.

Make a hedgehog pincushion - tutorial. I love hedgehogs.
I would consider moving to New Zealand just so that I could have them living in my yard, even though I hear that they can be a real nuisance. Oh, but they are so cute! And to be able to say hedgehogs live at the bottom of your garden would be a rather amazing thing to say, as if you lived in a children's story book. They are certainly a nicer looking than the snotty slugs and fuzzy-fat-goo-squirting caterpillars I keep accidentally stepping on in my own garden. Blerk.
