Let Us Reclaim Our Family. By Brian Cox The Toward Jerusalem Council II movement seeks reconciliation between Jews and Gentiles, drawing its vision from the first Council of Jerusalem.

Let Us Reclaim Our Family

This global movement has offices in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States. My experience with this movement began with two people, a laywoman in Germany and a rabbi in Texas, more than 20 years ago. While participating in an ecumenical charismatic conference in 1991 I met Christa Behr, a Lutheran from Hamburg who organized services of repentance at former Nazi concentration camps in Germany and Poland. Christa invited me to participate in one such service at Sachsenhausen Camp near Berlin in 1994. MJ Studies - A Gateway to Post-Supersessionist New Testament Scholarship - Home. While living in Budapest, Hungary, I had the amazing opportunity to participate in a Passover Seder with a large group of Holocaust survivors. This special group opened my eyes to a deeper message of freedom and redemption. Sitting with Jewish people who experienced one of the worst atrocities in history, and to see how excited they were to be at that Seder was encouraging. For most, it was their first Seder since they were children, and for a few of them, it might also have been their last. Yet to experience and celebrate with them not only our liberation from Egypt, but their deliverance from the Holocaust, made the message of redemption during this season very real. Pesach (Hebrew for Passover), recounts G-d’s deliverance of the Jewish people from Egypt approximately 3,300 years ago. Pesach, as did all the Biblical festivals, played an enormous role within the life of Yeshua and his followers. Congregation Shuvah Yisrael. Congregation Shuvah Yisrael.

Mussar

A simple definition is “growing in practical holiness.” Mussar assumes in its background the whole depth of Jewish teaching. Messianic Jewish Mussar assumes adherence to the interpretations of Yeshua, the Messiah, and further light on the nature and saving acts of God which have come to us through him. The following articles are intended to introduce Mussar, motivate a desire to start a routine of Mussar, and to give practical ideas along the way.

Those who begin the Mussar journey and discover its rewards are encouraged to buy at least one Mussar book, such as Alan Morinis’s Everyday Holiness. “Our Deeds Are Not Filthy Rags.” “Mussar, Tools for Transformed Living, Introduction.” “Avoiding the Hereafter Heresy (Mussar Foundations).” “Mussar, The Disappointing Experience of Faith Without Change.” “Living by Faith #1 (Mussar Beginnings).” Yeshua in Context. Why Yeshua. Someone asked me a good question last night.

Why Yeshua

He’s been to a few Messianic synagogues now and is trying to understand from a Christian point of view what Jewish life in Messiah is all about. He said, “Do you guys celebrate the Torah more than Messiah?” The heart of this question could be framed in more than one way, but put most simply it could be, “Why Yeshua (Jesus)?” Or “What difference does Yeshua make?” In the broad movement of Messianic Jews and Christians with a love for Judaism it might seem that the place of Yeshua is diminished. Or, considered from the view of others, mainstream Jews and people of a secular mindset, perhaps what Messianic Judaism is all about is religion with a touch of Yeshua.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Insufficient Goals and Diagnoses What difference does Yeshua make? This is a problem for many people considering the identity and aims of Yeshua. He certainly is all of that, but that is insufficient. Ancient Bible. Leman Musings. I plan to do a full review when I have more time, but since I am writing a book on the Divine Messiah realization (defined below) and since Bart Ehrman just released a book saying the idea of Jesus’ divinity… I am a good deal more than halfway done with Divine Messiah, my upcoming eBook and limited release paperback on a Jewish perspective on the divinity of Messiah.

Some interesting things have happened. Last month, Bart Ehrman released How Jesus… The Divine Messiah eBook and a limited release paperback is getting close to being done.
