(SABC) President Jacob Zuma says that late Public Service and Administration Minister Collins Chabane was an asset and his death has left a void that will be difficult for the country to fill. He was speaking after visiting the Chabane family in Waterkloof outside Pretoria on Monday. Zuma was accompanied by Chabane's deputy Ayanda Dlodlo and other cabinet ministers, including Thulas Nxesi, Edna Molewa and Angie Motshekga. Minister Chabane died in a car crash on Sunday. President Zuma says he had a very close relationship with Chabane. "To me he was like a son. Zuma says Chabane’s contribution to the struggle will never be forgotten. Chabane will be laid to rest on Saturday.
