Betcha can't make just one. I only needed to make one to include with a shower gift and look what happened. Before I knew it I had made one in each color. One to match the wedding invitation is packaged in a cellophane bag and closed with a tag (Bag fround in candy making department of craft store and tag made on computer and stapled closed) I also had some neutral colored paper so I made some stars (also called Moravian Stars or Froebel Stars) for autumn

The Art of Geometry
I’ve encountered a cavalcade of great geometric sculptures and installations this week, so as usual I’ve grouped them all together for your perusal. Thanks to the artists for providing information and images for this post. FOLDS is a beautiful installation by David Mesguich and Valentin Van der Meulen that first appeared in 2009 at Maison des Arts de Malakoff, and again in 2010 at Art Paris 2010. The piece is made from numerous polypropylene shapes and creates a somewhat haunting anatomical amalgam of face and skull.Paper diamonds

These totem pole collages, or sets, are sized to fit on a paper towel or gift wrap tube, depending upon the printer set up. For larger tubes you might try printing landscape mode. Cardboard tubes from toilet paper rolls, paper towels, aluminum foil, saran wrap, etc., make great bases for children to create paper totem poles. Children can cut out and color the totem pole creatures then paste or tape them onto the tubes. Snips here and there to the tubes to allow one tube to insert into the other can make them stackable. Make beautiful eye-catching stunning and colorful sun catchers for the windows.

With Christmas right around the corner, there are a million things to do in the way of decorating, list making, gift buying and travel planning. It can be overwhelming, especially if you’ve resolved to have a handmade holiday. Because DIY projects can be a bit of an investment and a little more work, I like to focus on ones that will serve me year round (while staying season-appropriate).Make a hand bound journal with elaborate side stitching for yourself or as a gift. The stitching is a lot easier than it looks and is so much nicer to hold than a spiral bound edge. Supplies and Equipment - sharp utility knife and cutting surface BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE SHARP BLADE - rulers - drill with 1/16th inch bit OR a small paper punch BE VERY CAREFUL WITH POWER TOOLS - fancy cover paper - I used Cavallini Vintage Tickets Wrapping Paper - 20" x 28"
Make This - Stab Bound Journal - Luxe DIY - How Did You Make This?
I've been trying to decide on what to make my hubby for a Valentine's gift and decided that I wanted to write more than a letter - so I decided to make him a mini journal / album / book of things I love about him, different memories I have of our life together, things like that (hopefully he won't read this before next weekend ;)). I found this fab tutorial awhile back about button and string closure and somehow wanted to incorporate it, thus I came up with this fun journal - it has a vintage feel - the button and string closure, and a bunch of found papers inside, including old school writing pages, graph paper and strategically cut magazine pages. The fun thing about these journals is you can use them for any occasion- to record a special event, to keep as a personal journal, to write a note to a friend, many possibilities!
