This sideboard tableau intersperses luminous pumpkins with a decanter of wine, a stand with fruit, and other objects evocative of Edgar Allan Poe and his tales of horror. To render the glowing silhouettes, we used two techniques: The bright candelabrum and goblet are cut through the pumpkins' walls, while the textured quill and skull are pared gently from the outer shells. Pumpkins of different hues, including white Lumina, a green-gray Jarrahdale, and burnt-orange cheese pumpkins, add tonal variety. Clip Art and Templates for Halloween - Martha Stewart Crafts
I was playing around today with the image that you see below, an 1880's ad for artificial eyes , and it occurred to me that this would be a fast and fun Halloween project ! After printing out the eyeball pages , (I printed two copies so that I could have matching eyeballs for each art piece) I just cut out the eyes and taped them over the glass of various portraits in my home. For Abe's eyes , I even colored in a few red lines with a pen , to make them look a bit bloodshot, although you can't really see it in the photo. This was so fun and easy to do.

I just used some kitchen matches that I purchased at the grocery store. These are the larger sized boxes, they measure about 2 3/4" by just under 5".

I designed and made this fun Halloween Boo garland as a display prop for my shop, and thought you guys might like to make one as well. This can be made in just a few easy steps. Today my husband and I went to a town in Pennsylvania that has a number of Antique shops known for carrying rare and early pieces . I don't go often as the prices can be quite high, but you can find some wonderful and unusual things. I was lucky to find this amazing Palmistry hand advertising card , it was damaged so I got a fairly good price on it. I thought you might like to see the progression of taking a piece like this and fixing it up digitally . I don't have photoshop unfortunately but I have Paint Shop Pro and it works quite nicely for me. The image above is the corrected image.
