We have a chair in our bedroom. Mike likes to sit in the chair, but often times he can't because it's filled with clothes. This makes Mike sad. We need a better place to set clothes! http://www.athomealterations.com/2011/03/how-to-cut-chair-in-half.html

http://www.marthastewart.com/273292/making-canvas-rugs Creating art underfoot is an easy step-by-step process, and no fancy supplies or skills are required. Just prime a piece of canvas, paint a design, and seal it with varnish. Our patterns are as simple to reproduce as scattering leaves from your backyard across a surface, marking stripes with tape rather than a ruler, tracing bowls for circles, and painting streaky brushstrokes on a grid. Use household tools and our stencils or create your own. Don't worry about perfect lines; these rugs are handcrafted and should look it.

http://decortoadore.blogspot.com/2010/10/tutorial-creating-painted-floorcloth.html For the past several weeks I have been fairly absent from blogland. I hope to make up for the lack of posts and comments with the first of several tutorials of the projects that have kept me away from the computer. One of the largest projects I created was a painted floor cloth to use in our Metis Linens booth at the Rose Bowl. It was very worth the time and effort, as it gave our display a finished look and elicited several "ooh's and aah's". Let's take a quick tour of the Metis booth.

Nov 5 We made this giant marquee sign last summer and I loved making it so when I saw these Mini Globe Lights I knew had to make a mini version. I actually made this project last month but forgot to take photos.

I am very pleased today to bring you a tutorial on how to work with my favorite-est crafting material of all: I've been working with cardboard even longer than I've been sewing and working with fabric. One of my most-used toys as a kid was a roll of scotch tape, with which I assembled all kinds of structures with found objects around the house. Whenever we had access to cardboard, which wasn't as often as I wished, and certainly nowhere as often as I have now, I was practically in heaven. Because I never had formal cardboard-builing lessons or read any books on how to work with cardboard, I imagined that everyone else also just winged it with cardboard.

We recently created this fabric pom pom as a tree topper for an inspiration shoot over at Design*Sponge , but it’s a great DIY project for a wedding as well. They have so many creative uses… hung above tables, chair aisle decor, or an alternative to the expensive flower poms that flower girls use to walk down the aisle. -Ashley of Dolci Odille Supplies: Fabric, scissors, hot glue gun, and chinese lanterns. Step 1: Cut circles out of fabric.
