http://dannygregory.wordpress.com/page/2/ I spent almost as much time picking a subject for this drawing as I did with a pen in my hand. I ran through all sorts of options: a stack of towels, a rumpled bed, a rain-soaked shirt hanging on a hook. In each case, I could immediately see the finished drawing in my head. Boring.

The Clignancourt flea markets | Luster

http://thisisluster.com/2011/11/21/clignancourt/ I know it’s been a long time between posts, but I’ve been a busy girl lately. I left my full-time job a couple of weeks ago, just started a new one , took a trip to Paris, and celebrated a birthday last week, so needless to say, it’s been hectic! The last minute trip to Paris was such a fun, serendipitous way to mark the end of one era and the beginning of the next.

Faux Finish Painting and the Art of Faux Faux paintings are seen throughout history, starting with the Egyptian Pharaohs when they employed artists and craftsmen to replicate wood graining, using the techniques of faux finishing. Through the centuries the Greeks and Romans made huge advancements in the field of the Decorative Arts. http://www.trompe-l-oeil-art.com/faux.html

Mosaic Art : Abstract

Each mosaic is produced with hand-cut double fired French porcelain tesserae which has an impervious matt surface, very similar to the natural stone colours of the Roman and Byzantine mosaics, with the occasional addition of vitreous/sicis or smalti glass providing a contemporary twist. The mosaics are mounted on a firm base suitable for indoor wall or tabletop display. PURCHASING A MOSAIC You can purchase a piece of mosaic art by credit/debit card using PayPal. http://mosaicart.org.uk/gallery_334176.html

When it comes to doing creative work, it’s important to not only look for ways to let our creativity thrive, but to also be mindful of insidious “creativity killers” that can sneak up and strangle our ability to come up with our best ideas. According to research from Harvard University , there are five main culprits that are responsible for killing our creativity. I t’s important to recognize these impediments to the creative thought process because many are insidious, and worse yet, most can be made on the managerial end, meaning we may be stifling our creative workers without even realizing it.
