It's a VINTAGE CHRISTMAS!

Early 1900s Christmas Music Recordings

Christmas tree light collector George Nelson also collected and restored antique wax cylinder phonographs. On this page George posted mp3 recordings he had made of Christmas music cylinders in his posession. Unfortunately, when George's web site shut down, the music files were all lost immediately. Although this page remained available on at least one archive site, without the music files, it was just a sad reminder of what we had lost. In my efforts to restore George's site, I was faced with the decision of trying to replace George's recordings with similar recordings other folks had made, or deleting this page altogether. Then, totally by fluke, in June, 2010, I found that another reader had copied most of George's recordings onto his web page in 2007.

Curious Sofa Diaries

http://curioussofa.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2010-11-17T13:38:00-08:00&max-results=20 The long awaited cover; Holiday with Matthew Mead. If you are a member of the blog world (read 'em, watch 'em, fan of them) then to tell you of a new magazine that has hit the air is not news. But if you are not a blog stalker, let me tell you about someone you'll need to know, Matthew Mead. Picture this: A stylish person you have watched in the pages of a magazine for about 20 years. You have read his name here and there, you have seen him on TV talking of his collections, you know he styles, he decorates, he cooks, he shoots... he is a full-on media wonderment, and his name is not Martha Stewart (because he is more approachable than that.)
Each day leading up to Christmas we have a mini-mission to spread a little joy! R andom A ct of C hristmas K indness!! This year I wanted to do a countdown that would encourage my kids to GIVE, SERVE and HELP OTHERS. As they celebrate by sharing small acts of kindness, I hope they will experience the true meaning of this glorious season. Each bag has the activity, supplies and treats. http://katherinemaries.com/blog/archives/7437

It’s Friday, people! This means that a happy dance is in order right now! TGIF! For a pretty day I have the portfolio of a star for all. And I’m totally serious when saying star, she’s a design star and she’s the winner of HGTV ‘s show .
