Application Process - MSCS REU. Who should apply? Our target audience is undergraduates of all levels majoring in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related areas. Accepted students spend ten weeks at Marquette University; in 2013, the program runs May 28th to August 2nd. Applications for 2013 are now closed. The application deadline is typically the first Friday in March. Our REU program was not renewed for summer 2014, and we will not be accepting applications in spring 2014. Check back here in late 2014 for news of a summer 2015 REU. REU Site: Mathematics Research Experience for Pre-service and for In-service Teachers A National Science Foundation Supported Undergraduate Research Experience for Secondary Education Mathematics Majors Summer 2014 Professors: Saad El-Zanati and David Barker Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois We will offer an eight-week (June 9-August 1, 2014) summer research experience for eight undergraduates majoring in secondary education in mathematics and for four in-service secondary mathematics teachers. The main objective of the project is to provide research opportunities for the participants, helping them become highly-qualified teachers who can meet national demands for increased student proficiency and can adapt to the changing needs of our technological society.
The pre-service participants will be offered up to $400 in travel support, a dorm room to be shared with other participants in the REU, a meal plan, and a $4000 stipend. Further information can be obtained by contacting Dr. University of Washington Mathematics REU.
