Con la llegada de las modernas resinas de epoxi y la madera contrachapada de calidad, pronto los constructores navales se dieron cuenta que se podían construir pequeñas embarcaciones sin recurrir a complejos armazones, moldes y otras estructuras que requerían luego una laboriosa construcción de un casco exterior.

Los materiales necesarios para la construcción de un kayak de lona pvc son muy económicos y se resumen en: Listones de madera,(cualquier madera servirá) pino, roble, cedro, etc. de 30 por 20mm (+ o -) y de 500 cmts. (varias piezas según modelo)

Rolling kayak rack... : Kayak Rigging
JKay's rolling kayak project inspired me to build my own so I took his idea and added on to it to suit my needs. The result is a rolling rack that will hold up to four kayaks (usually three as when I move it inside it will be too tall for the fourth), my rods, paddles and some gear all in one rack. If you notice, I used pvc crossmembers which works great for sliding your kayak into the rack and 2" strap webbing to hold the kayaks off the pvc. The rod holders are all 1½" pvc cut and flared at the end with a heat gun.
